(Columbia, SC) it's been a busy three months at Allen University.

Last July, Yellow Jacket Athletics announced the approval to begin the three-year transition from NAIA to NCAA Division II

In August, the school hired Dr, Jerome Fitch as Director of Athletics.  Fitch had helped Claflin University transition from NAIA to Division II, membership in the SIAC and eventually membership in the CIAA.

Now, thanks to a unanimous vote by the SIAC Council of Presidents, Allen is rejoining the confeence as a year one provisional member of the NCAA)

Allen University was once a powerhouse in the SIAC during its membership from 1947-1968, winning six football championships in eight ,  The football team went undefeated in 1965

Allen sponsors thirteen intercollegiate programs. Student-athletes compete in men’s football, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s track & field, and women’s volleyball, women’s softball, men’s soccer and men’s wrestling.
