“I’m humbled and honored to receive the President’s Award,” Williams, who is entering his 10th year at Hampton, said. “I never started doing this for an award, but just because I wanted to do my part and assist CoSIDA in any way possible. I thank outgoing CoSIDA President Judy Willson for this award and all that she has done for CoSIDA.”

The body recognized Williams for his work on the organization’s Strategic Plan. He currently serves on CoSIDA’s Academic All-American and Scholarship Committees.

Williams was a presenter at one of the panels at this year’s CoSIDA convention, speaking of how the Office of Sports Information collaborates with the University Relations office when major events occur; specifically, when ESPN was on campus in February to broadcast SportsCenter on the Road prior to the men’s lacrosse program’s Div. I debut.

The President’s Award made its debut in 2014-15, and award honors exemplary volunteer service and leadership with the organization’s committee structure in support of programs that benefit CoSIDA members.

This is the second time CoSIDA has awarded Williams. In 2012, he was given the Rising Star Award.
