mvsu stanley stubbsStubbs, a well-known name in HBCU coaching ranks, resume includes 21 years as both a head and assistant coach. His tenure as head coach is an inspiring success by any measure. He started his coaching career at Jackson State from 1994-1998 and won the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) championship in 1995.  In the SIAC, Coach Stubbs won multiple championships and Coach of the Year honors at Paine College and Albany State University.  He also has stops at Savannah State University, Benedict College, Texas College and Lemoyne Owen College.

Prior to joining MVSU, Stubbs has served as the head coach at Rust College where he has been making a difference since he made it on campus.  He is also the Associate Athletic Director at Rust College and is an Associate Major League Baseball (MLB) scout for the Washington Nationals.

Stubbs, a native of Booneville, MS, will be the fifth head coach in the Delta Devil's history.
