Lincoln University, Pa. - Lincoln University Director of Athletics and Recreational Services Harry Stinson III has added to his senior administration staff with the hiring of Jayson Ameer Rasheed, as the Assistant Athletics Director for Communications and Marketing.lupa AmeerRasheed Rasheed

Rasheed comes to Lincoln after nearly two years as the Sports Information Director at Kentucky State University. He brings almost 20 years of athletic communications experience to Lincoln University having worked at Wilmington College, Webster University, Alabama State University, and Thomas More College.

"I am truly excited to add Jayson Ameer to our staff," said Stinson. "He brings a wealth of knowledge to our department in the area of graphic arts, social media marketing and promotions, along with understanding the ever-changing landscape of sports information. His energy, passion for telling the story of athletics, experience with public relations and ability to lead will greatly assist our department as we continue to add pieces to the puzzle as we continue to create a championship culture. I'm looking forward to the championship level approach to the area of communications and marketing we will build as we promote Lincoln Athletics."

While at Kentucky State, he served on the athletics senior staff and coordinated the communications efforts for all 13 intercollegiate sports. As part of the senior staff, Rasheed served as a sport administrator for  baseball, softball and cheerleading, He expanded the athletic departments' live stat offerings and expanded their social media presence. One of his biggest accomplishments was helping move Kentucky State University football to over the air radio. Additionally, Kentucky State football games were streamed through the internet with Rasheed serving as the play-by-play announcer for road contests.

He also worked with Institutional Advancement on fundraising projects and facilitated a revamp to the department's, fundraising arm, the Green Club. After taking over the department's ticketing efforts, Rasheed negotiated a deal with a new ticketing vendor, Hometown Ticketing, which moved Kentucky State's ticketing efforts digitally. In his only season, Kentucky State increased its ticketing revenue.

Rasheed oversaw and grew the social media platforms for the Kentucky State athletics department.

While at KSU, Rasheed served as the SID liaison for the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) and worked on the SIAC championship committee for basketball and volleyball.

In addition to his work in athletics, Rasheed served on the Presidents' University Forum and was elected as Vice President of the Kentucky State University Staff Senate.

Prior to his stint at KSU, Rasheed worked in professional athletics as the Director of Media Relations for the Ultimate Indoor Football League and the Director of Media and Community Relations for the Kentucky Monsters. He also spent three seasons with the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals as a press box assistant in the media relations department.

He is a graduate of the NCAA Institute of Administrative Advancement and a member of the NCAA Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute.

Rasheed has served on several national committees including CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) and BCSIDA (Black College Sports Information Directors of America). He currently serves on the Leadership Council for BCSIDA.

A 2000 graduate of Wilmington College with a Bachelor's Degree in Sport Administration and Communications, Rasheed is a member of Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.
