Lincoln University of Pennsylvania has announced the hiring of Wilson Bailey as Interim Head Coach for the men's and women's cross country and track and field programs.lupa wilson baileyBailey

Bailey was promoted after spending the last two seasons as an assistant coach to Quanette Ford. Ford led the Lions program for the past two-plus seasons after serving as an assistant coach from 2011-2013. Ford resigned to take the Head Women's Track and Field Coach position at East Stroudsburg University, where she was an All-American Triple jumper and a 2001 graduate from the institution.

"It is a bittersweet moment to lose Coach Ford to her alma mater," said Athletics Director Harry Stinson. "She made tremendous strides for our cross country/track & field programs and for that we thank her and will miss her. The sweet part of this opportunity is providing a leadership role for one of Lincoln's own, Wilson Bailey, who will serve as our interim. We know he will do an excellent job moving forward."

A 2013 graduate from Lincoln University, Bailey returned to his alma mater as Ford's assistant in 2016 following a successful career as a member of the Lions' cross country and track and field teams from 2009-13. While competing at Lincoln University, Bailey was named All-CIAA in 2011 & 2013 for his efforts at the CIAA Cross Country Championship. In addition, Bailey holds the school indoor record for the 3,000-meter run.

"We have already begun the search for a permanent head coach and we look forward to naming a new head coach in the coming weeks," Stinson concluded.
