Reed has just completed a successful three years at Hinds Community College where her teams compiled a 47-29 record over three years. She led the Lady BulldogsHinds to back to back winning seasons in 2016-17 and 2017-18 including a trip to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 23 championship game in 2017.

Reed is familiar with JSU having served as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator from 2006-2009.

"Today is a very special day in my life," Reed said. "JSU means so much to me. I can't wait to get to work and showcase our great university and fantastic student-athletes on and off the court."

JSU president Dr. William Bynum reflected on a big pool of candidates interested in the opening. "We had current head coaches, we had assistants at SEC and other major conference teams. The pool was truly deep. We thought going in that we should have someone who's already been a head coach. That was extremely important. The search committee felt that Coach Reed was head and shoulders above the rest."
