Charlotte, NC (February 6, 2018) – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) has announced the addition of Sirena Williams as the conference's Track and Field Coordinator of Officials.ciaa sirena williamsWilliams

"Sirena brings an array of professional experiences to the CIAA and has a demonstrated commitment of high expectations and strong values, which align with our mission here in the CIAA," said Commissioner Jacqie McWilliams. "We are excited to have her on board and look forward to the positive impact she will undoubtedly have on the conference."

Williams is a USA Track & Field Master-Level Certified Track & Field Official with over 8 years' experience officiating at more than 70 indoor and outdoor meets. No stranger to the CIAA, she has played a role on the officiating crews of several conference track and field events including her most recent stint as a starter in both the 2016 Indoor & Outdoor Track and Field Conference Championships.

Williams is a 2001 graduate of The University of Connecticut where she earned her B.A. in Mass Communications Processes. She went on to earn her M.B.A in Sports Management from Tiffin University. Williams also holds a NCAA DII Coaching Certificate and is a USATF Level II Certified coach in sprints, hurdles, and relay events.

This weekend will mark Williams' first at the helm of officials with the 2018 CIAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The conference meet will begin on Sunday, February 11th at 9:00 a.m. and extend through Monday, February 12th. The event is free and open to the public.
