Elizabeth City State Women's Basketball Coach; SID Resign

Laquanda Dawkins has resigned as women’s basketball coach at Elizabeth City State.ecsu viking

According to a news release from the university on Friday, Dawkins stepped down on Wednesday, citing personal reasons.

“I want to thank Coach Dawkins for her time and effort with the women’s basketball program,” ECSU athletic director Derrick Johnson said in the release. “We wish her the best in her future endeavors.”

The release added that assistant coach Danny Turner will assume the operations of the women’s basketball program until an interim head coach can be named at a later date.

Unrelated to the coach's resignation, Onnidan sources have confirmed the resignation of ECSU Sports Information Director April Emory effective August 31.
