“I’m extremely excited about Coach Eason joining my staff,” said Slater. “She is going to be a great role model for our student-athletes.”

Eason spent the last three seasons as an assistant coach on LeMoyne-Owen College women’s basketball staff. She was instrumental in the development of perimeter players, scouting opponents, game preparation, and recruiting.

During her time at LeMoyne-Owen she helped guide the Lady Magicians to the team’s best record in five years at 19-9 overall, 13-5 in conference play, and was ranked as the #3 most improved NCAA Division II, women’s basketball team in the 2014-2015 season.

Before her coaching career, Eason was a four-year letter winner and three-year starter from 2007-2011 at Louisiana State University. She played under Hall of Fame Coach Van Chancellor and reached the Final Four in 2008. During her career, LSU compiled a 90-40 record- winning at least 19 games each season. She reached the NCAA Tournaments three times at LSU and won a SEC Championship in 2008.
