BALTIMORE, Md. - Jason Pompey has been named the new Sports Information Director at Coppin State University, effective December 14, 2015. He succeeds Rob Knox who left for a position at Towson State University. Pompey will handle all communication efforts for all athletic programs for the Eagles.Pompey
Prior to Coppin State, Pompey served as the Sports Information Director & Media Specialist at Lincoln University (Pa.) of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA). While at LU, he was in charge of coordinating media relations efforts for all 13 of Lincoln's athletics programs. His duties included the marketing and promotion of athletics, keeping statistics at all home athletic contests, and maintaining the university athletics web site. The Sports Information Office at Lincoln produced live video for all home volleyball, football, soccer, and basketball games. Pompey covered the university's first ever CIAA championship when the women's cross country team were crowned champions in the Fall of 2015. During his time at LU the women's basketball team made capped a historical season by reaching the CIAA Basketball Tournament Championship game in 2015.
Before joining the Lincoln staff in October of 2013, Pompey was the Sports Information Director at Hunter College. He also served as the Sports Information Director at Virginia State University from 2010-2013.
A native of Queens, NY, Pompey received his Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Virginia Union University in 2009 and then earned his Master's degree in Sports Management from Virginia State University in 2010.
