Brett Richardson Named Alcorn State Baseball Head Coach

Lorman, MS - Alcorn State Director of Athletics Derek Horne has announced the selection of Brett Richardson, a Tallahassee, Florida native, as the new leader of the Braves' baseball program.alcn brett richardsonRichardson

Richardson comes to the Reservation after spending 19 years on the baseball coaching staff at Florida A&M.
The personable Richardson's ties to the FAMU Diamond Program began during his playing days in the early 1990s as a catcher on the Rattlers' Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference title winners in 1990, 1991 and 1992.
After spending five seasons as an assistant baseball coach at Tallahassee Lincoln High School (1992 to 1997), Richardson returned to FAMU to begin his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant under head coach Joe Durant in August of 1998.
Richardson eventually was promoted to full-time status in 2000, combining the duties of pitching coach and recruiting coordinator, with his various responsibilities as an assistant coach.

Staff Changes at The Lincoln University

In his first season the women's cross country squad became the first ever team at The Lincoln University to win a CIAA Championship after tallying 59 points at the 2014 CIAA Women's Cross Country Championships.

Coach Drummond was also the first ever Head Coach at Lincoln University to win the CIAA Head Coach of the Year Award.

Jeffrey Zack enters his first year as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at The Lincoln University.

Jeffrey received his Master’s degree in Clinical Athletic Training from Bloomsburg University in 2014 and his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Temple University in 2012, where he was a four-year letter winner with the men’s gymnastics team.

Jeffrey is certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) and is licensed by both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and the Eastern Athletic Trainers’ Association (EATA).
