(8/27/14) Joseph Moses, coach of men's and women's cross country and track and field at Xavier University of Louisiana, has announced two additions to his staff.  Joining the staff in 2014-15 are assistant coach Quinton Harley and student assistant Donyé Coleman.
Harley will coach XU sprinters, hurdlers and relay teams. He comes to Xavier from NCAA Division I's East Carolina University, where he was a volunteer assistant in 2013-14 and a sprinter and hurdler for two seasons.
Coleman competed at Xavier and was All-Gulf Coast Conference four times in women's cross country and twice in outdoor track.

(8/27/14) Virginia Union University head men's basketball coach Tony Sheals has rounded out his coaching staff for the upcoming season. Derek Thompson and Hannibal Tuck will be on the bench as assistant coaches.
Thompson was an assistant head men's basketball coach at Miles from 2010 until last season. 
Tuck comes to Virginia Union after serving as the Varsity Basketball Coach at St. Christopher's Boys School in Richmond, Va., from 2010 until 2014.

(8/26/14) Norfolk State Athletics Director Marty L. Miller has announced the hiring of Worth Richardson to lead the men’s and women’s tennis programs. Richardson arrives at NSU after spending  last season as an assistant coach at William & Mary.

(8/25/14) The Chowan University athletic department has announced the addition of Emily Karpinski to their coaching staff. She will serve as an assistant coach for the women's soccer and lacrosse teams, working primarily with the women's soccer squad.

(8/21/14) The Chowan University athletic department has announced the addition of Lauren Falohun to the women's basketball coaching staff.    She will serve as an assistant coach for the Hawks.  Prior to joining the Chowan staff,  Falohun served as the strength and conditioning coach and assistant girls' varsity coach at Columbia High School in Decatur, GA.  She organized training schedules as well as pre and post workouts for the team during the 2013-14 season with the Eagles.

(8/19/14) Fayetteville State University Athletics has named Jacqlyn Stickley the head softball coach for the upcoming 2014-15 season. Stickley will lead the Lady Broncos’ softball program after serving one season as an assistant coach for FSU softball.

(8/19/14) The Saint Augustine’s University athletic department announced the hiring of four assistant coaches and a new athletic training staff on Tuesday, August 19, 2014.
- Michael Morand is the new offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach on the football staff.
- Marque Carrington joins the men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach.
- Jonathan Kelly is in his first season as wide receivers coach on the football staff.
- Freddie Aughtry-Lindsay begins his first season as secondary coach on the football staff.
- Lakida Whetstone takes over the position of head athletic trainer.
- Tyler Vinson and Johntavis Mallary join the Saint Augustine’s University staff as assistant athletic trainers.

(8/18/14) Chris Steiner-Wilcoxson, who led Auburn-Montgomery to the 2014 national championship, has been named head softball coach at Alabama State.  In six seasons at AUM, Steiner-Wilcoxson led the Warhawks to three consecutive NAIA Tournament appearances and the first national championship in program history.

(8/18/14)  Fayetteville State University has announced the hiring of Lamont Hinson in the department of athletics as the Assistant Athletics Director and Sports Information Director. Hinson will serve in an executive leadership role and be responsible for athletic media relations as a direct report to the Director of Athletics.  Hinson rejoins the FSU family after serving nearly six years as the Director of Sports Information at Johnson C. Smith University.

(8/18/14)  Although no "official" announcement appears on the school's athletic website, several sources (including the head football coach on his Facebook page) have reported that Grambling State University has hired Nadine Domond as head women's basketball coach.  Domond succeeds Patricia Cage-Bibbs who is interim athletics director.

(8/15/14) Paine College has named Selina Bynum Kohn its new Director of Athletics. The announcement was made during a press conference held at Paine’s HEAL Complex. Kohn becomes to first female appointed to the position at the institution.  She has been serving as interim AD since Tim Duncan departed for a similar position at Clayton State

(8/15/14) Delaware State University Head Men’s Basketball Coach Keith Walker has announced his coaching staff for the 2014-15 season.
Keith Johnson will serve as assistant head coach, while Kevin Washington and Alex Stone have been appointed as assistant coaches.
Prior to joining the DSU staff, Johnson was associate head coach at Coppin State for the past 13 seasons.
Washington is most noted as a successful high school basketball coach and administrator at Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, N.C., for nearly two decades.
Stone most recently served in the Athletics Compliance Office at Notre Dame University the past two years. While there, he assisted with, among other things, recruit monitoring and initial eligibility.

(8/15/14) New FAMU head men’s basketball coach Byron Samuels has formally announced the appointments of Bruce M. Martin, Aaron Holmes and Donald L. Anderson to his coaching staff.
Martin, who has served as a head coach both on the collegiate level at Davis & Elkins College in Ohio (2009-13), and in the European League with the Ockelbo (Sweden) Basketball Club (2004-05), comes to FAMU from the University of Wyoming, where he spent the past school year as an academic advisement coordinator for Men’s Basketball and Swimming and Diving.
Holmes is a St. Petersburg, Florida native, who comes to FAMU from his high school alma mater, Catholic High School, where he had served as boys head coach this past school year.
Anderson joins the FAMU staff from Jacksonville (Fla.) University, where he had been the Dolphins’ Director of Basketball Operations since July of 2012.

(8/14/14) Shaw University has hired Lindsee Ratliff-Bowens as its new Sports Information Director.  Prior to coming to Shaw, Ratliff-Bowens interned in Shaw’s sports information department where she provided statistics and wrote game stories for the University’s track and field, baseball and softball teams.  While completing her undergraduate degrees she also has served as a student volunteer for NC State’s Athletics Communications department.

(8/14/14) Delaware State third-year head coach Tamika Louis has announced the addition of Lou Hamilton and Jaresha Obey to the Lady Hornets basketball coaching staff.  Hamilton spent the last two seasons at Grambling State and will serve as recruiting coordinator. Obey comes from Rochester College (Mich) where she was an assistant coach and admissions recruiter.

(8/13/14) Second year Hampton head volleyball coach Karen Weatherington has announced two new hires: Nicole Giancola as assistant coach and Petra Parros as Director of Operations.  Giancola and Parros join a staff that already includes Weatherington and second-year assistant coach Janay Yancey.  Giancola spent last season as the head volleyball coach at Nansemond River High School in nearby Suffolk, Va.  Parros joins the staff at her alma mater as she continues work on her 5-year MBA – having received her Bachelor's degree this past May in business administration.

(8/12/14) Laura Watten, the all-time winningest softball coach in Bethune-Cookman University history will return to Daytona Beach, Florida as Head Softball Coach. The announcement came at a press conference inside the Michael & Libby Johnson Center for Civic Engagement on Tuesday afternoon.

(8/11/14) The Hampton University Department of Athletics has tapped former Temple coach Joe DiPietro to be the next head coach of the softball program.  DiPietro was most recently the head softball coach at Temple for five years.

(8/8/14) Tuskegee University has announced the hiring of its new men's basketball coach. President Brian Johnson, Ph.D. and Athletic Director, Curtis Campbell, have selected former New York Knicks assistant coach, Jerry M. Dunn, to lead the Golden Tigers basketball team. Dunn replaces Leon Douglas, who resigned in July.

(8/7/14) James Wilhelmi has completed his men’s basketball staff at Winston-Salem State hiring Andre Gray and Justin Griffith.
Gray, 40, spent time at Wingate, Gardner-Webb, Western Carolina and, for the last two seasons, at UNC Wilmington. Before his stint at UNC Wilmington he worked under Coach Larry Hunter for three seasons at Western Carolina.
Griffith, 25, is a Winston-Salem native who is a 2008 graduate of Mount Tabor. He is a graduate of N.C. Wesleyan and worked as an assistant at Mount Olive the last two seasons.

(8/6/14)The FAMU Athletics Department has appointed Marc Small as the new head men’s cross country and track and field coach. He began his role on July 24.  Small comes to FAMU from Lakeland College in Wisconsin, where he served as the head coach of the men’s and women’s track & field teams for the past two years – his first head coaching stint after seven years as an assistant coach.

(8/6/14) Jason Horn, Xavier University of Louisiana's director of athletics and recreation, has announced the hiring of four employees.  Joining the staff are Allie Wood and Joe Fawcett as athletic trainers, Hilary Lobenstein as assistant women's volleyball coach and Jimmie Walker as administrative specialist.  Wood's and Fawcett's positions are funded through an agreement between Xavier and Ochsner Health System's sports medicine division.

(8/5/14) The Virginia State University Athletic Department has announced the hiring of John Westbrook as Sports Information and Marketing Director.  Westbrook comes to Virginia State after serving as Assistant Manager of Media Relations at Jackson State University.

(8/5/14) Less than a week after resigning at head golf coach at Paine College, Herman Belton, who guided Benedict College to a national championship in 2004, is returning the Columbia campus as head men's and women's golf coach

(8/4/14) Texas College (TC) President, Dr. Dwight J. Fennell has announced today the hiring of Rodney Blackshear as the new Texas College Steers Acting Head Football Coach. Blackshear joins the Texas College family from Irving, TX Independent School District where he was teaching and coaching middle school football. He succeeds George Cumby who resigned to become athletic director at Bishop Gorman High School in Tyler, TX

(8/2/14) South Carolina State head coach Buddy Pough has a new addition to the coaching staff with the hire of linebackers coach Ben Barton.  Barton, a native of Tyler, Texas, spent the 2013 season as defensive graduate assistant at Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana.  Prior, to Louisiana Tech, Barton coached at Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kansas.

(8/1/14) Paine College officials have announced that Head Golf Coach Herman Belton will resign his position effective August 8. Belton just wrapped up his third season at the helm of the Lions program where he led the team to back-to-back Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) titles in 2012 and 2013.  The Camden, South Carolina, native led the school a conference title in his first season as head coach. Belton also coached Carlos Solis who was the 2012 SIAC Golfer of the Year, 2012 SIAC Freshman of the Year, 2012 SIAC Tournament MVP and 2012 G.A.M.E.S. Award Finalist. That same year, the United States Navy Veteran was also named the SIAC Golf Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season.

(8/1/14) The Albany State football program has announced that Brian Von Bergen has been named the new quarterback coach for the Golden Rams. Von Bergen comes to Albany State after serving five seasons as the passing game coordinator and wide receiver coach for Montana State University from 2009-2014.
