(7/31/14) Jackson State University head football coach Harold Jackson has selected Maurice Johnson as the program’s defensive line coach.
Johnson comes to Jackson State after serving as a defensive assistant coach for the Copiah-Lincoln Wolfpack, where he was in charge of coaching the linebackers.

(7/31/14) Leon Douglas, the former two-time All-American at Alabama who recently resigned at Tuskegee, has been named head men's basketball coach at Miles College.

(7/30/14) Elizabeth City State University head men's basketball coach Shawn Walker has announced his resignation to accept the head coach position at Grambling State University.

(7/30/14) Tennessee State men’s basketball coach Dana Ford has announced the hiring of assistants Randy Peele and Pierre Jordan.
Peele becomes Ford’s associate head coach after 29 years of coaching experience at seven different universities including Saint Michael’s, Tennessee-Martin, Campbell, UNCG, Winthrop, Virginia Tech and most recently, Georgia Southern.
Jordan played basketball in the Atlantic Coast Conference for Florida State and Georgia Tech from 2008 to 2013. He was named to the Academic Honor Roll each of his two years at Tech and was a member of three NCAA Tournament teams at Florida State.

(7/22/14) The Lincoln University Director of Athletics Dr. Darryl A. Pope has announced the appointment of Evan Camperell as Head Coach of the women’s soccer program.  The 2014-15 season will mark the ninth intercollegiate soccer season as a head coach for Evan Camperell. During the 2013-14 season, Camperell was the head men's soccer coach at Lassen College located in Susanville, Calif. At the intercollegiate level Camperell has served as a head soccer coach within the California Community College System in both the NAIA and NCAA (D3).

 (7/18/14) The Southwestern Athletic Conference has hired Jennifer Jones as the Director of Communications.  Jones will be responsible for overseeing the league’s public and media relations program as well as managing the SWAC Digital Network, general sports information needs and assisting with championship events. Previously Jones served as director of sports information at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pa. 

(7/15/14) Voorhees College has hired Derrick Mitchell as its new head men’s basketball coach. He succeeds Michael Cheaney, who left in May to take a similar position at Auburn University in Montgomery. Before coming to Voorhees, Mitchell, a Tougaloo alum, served as assistant coach of the women’s basketball team at Division II Southern Arkansas University.

(7/14/14) Paine College has named Selina Kohn as interim director of athletics effective July 14.  She succeeds Tim Duncan who left to become director of athletics at Clayton State.  This will mark the second time Kohn has served as interim AD in her 15-year career at the school.

(7/14/14) Coppin State University has completed its men's basketball staff with the hiring of Kevin Jones.  Born and raised in Baltimore, Jones worked for two seasons as an assistant varsity coach for St. Frances Academy in Baltimore.

(7/11/14) West Virginia State University head football coach Jon Anderson has hired Jamal Powell as offensive line coach.  Powell has been an assistant coach at Centre College, Southwest Baptist University and, most recently, Seton Hill University.  He had an outstanding college playing career at Texas Christian University (TCU) and played two seasons in the National Football League followed by two more in the Canadian Football League.

(7/11/14) Alabama A&M University's Director of Athletics Bryan Hicks has hired former Bulldog Matthew Lay as its men's golf coach.
Before joining the Maroon and White, Lay served as an assistant at the Professionals Golf Shop, in Madison, Alabama.

(7/11/14) Coppin State head men's basketball coach Michael Grant has added another familiar face to his staff with the addition of Doug Lewis as an assistant coach.  Lewis, who coached with Grant at Central State University for five years, comes to Baltimore from the University of Milwaukee-Wisconsin where he worked during the 2013-14 season as the men’s basketball Director of Player and Community Development.

(7/11/14) Mississippi Valley State University officially introduced Andre Payne as its new head basketball coach during a press conference at the Science and Technology Center on the MVSU campus.  Payne arrives at MVSU after an eight-year stint as head coach and associate athletics director at Wiley College in Texas.

(7/11/14) Hampton University has named Donovan Rose as Assistant Athletics Director for Fundraising.  Rose, who begins his 24th year with the school, had been head football coach from 2009-13.  Prior to that, he had been a player and assistant coach for the Pirates' football program.

(7/10/14) Clayton State University has selected Tim Duncan to become the Lakers’ Director of Intercollegiate Athletics.  University President Dr. Thomas Hynes announced on Monday that Duncan, the current Director of Athletics at Paine College, will oversee the institution’s 12-sport NCAA Division II intercollegiate athletics program.

(7/10/14) Kentucky State Athletics Director Dr. Denisha Hendricks has been elected Chair of the NCAA DII Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee. Her term begins September 1, 2014 and expires in January 2016

(7/10/14) Coppin State University head men’s basketball coach Michael Grant has named 17-year coaching veteran Elwyn McRoy as one of his assistant coaches for the Eagles. They previously worked together at Stillman College during the 2012-13 season.

(7/9/14) Paul Spicer has resigned as defensive line coach at Jackson State due to family reasons. Spicer joined the staff in February as one of the new hires by head coach Harold Jackson.  Prior to JSU, Spicer was an assistant coach with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

(7/8/14) Stillman head football coach Teddy Keaton has hired former Alabama offensive lineman John Causey as offensive line coach.  Causey, who played for Gene Stallings, spent the last seven years coaching at American Christian Academy in Tuscaloosa.

(7/4/14) Mike DeMilia, who helped lead Truman State to the postseason last spring, has been named head coach of the Lincoln(MO) University baseball program.. DeMilia becomes the eighth head coach in Lincoln baseball history.

(7/3/14) Bethune-Cookman women’s basketball Head Coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis has officially welcomed Juleé O’Neal to the staff as a graduate assistant in the 2014-15 season. O’Neal replaces Mary Dunn, who earned her Master’s Degree in May 2014.

(7/1/14) The Monroe, Louisiana News Star has reported that Grambling State athletics director Aaron James and men's basketball coach Joseph Price have been relieved of their duties.

(7/1/14) The Saint Augustine’s University athletics department has named MarQus Johnson as its head men’s basketball coach..
Johnson was elevated to head coach after two seasons as assistant men’s basketball coach at Saint Augustine’s University from 2012 to 2014.
