The 6-1 204 prospect was the 98th player taken overall.
The Baton Rouge native led the SWAC last season with 90 catches for 1,337 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was named first-team All-SWAC and second-team FCS All-American while leading the G-Men to a league championship and Celebration Bowl title.
NFL.com's Lanze Zierleis says Williams "plays bigger than his size. Confident in his hands and snatches the ball way out in front of this frame. Shows some physicality after the catch and isn't easy to bring down.
Williams overcame off-the-field troubles prior to the 2016 season which resulted in a one-game suspension.
He is expected to shadow Cardinal receiver Larry Fitzgerald with the hope that he will replace the future Hall-of-Famer in the Arizona lineup.
