|Miles College releases 2013 Football Schedule|
FAIRFIELD, AL – Miles College Golden Bears had another great outing in 2012 as the team appeared in its first NCAA Division II playoff game with the University of West Alabama in Livingston, Alabama . Miles Interim Director of Athletics Phillip Wallace has announced the release of the nine-game 2013 football schedule. The schedule includes three home games at Albert J. Sloan-Alumni Stadium and six away games.
In 2012, The Golden Bears finished the season with an 8-3 overall record and 6-1 in SIAC (Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) play, as well as their first trip to the NCAA Playoff, which included a first round loss to the University of West Alabama.
The Golden Bears open the season with two Gulf South Conference road games starting with the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama on Saturday, September 7 and the University of West Georgia on Saturday, September 14 in Carrollton, Georgia at 6 p.m.
Miles return to Albert J. Sloan-Alumni Stadium for the start of conference play with the Rams of Albany State University on Saturday, September 28 at 6 p.m.
Miles second road trip takes them to Columbia, South Carolina and a date with Benedict College on Saturday, October 5 at 2 p.m., then over to Wilberforce, Ohio to play first timer Central State University at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 12.
On Saturday, October 19 the Golden Bears host the Thorobreds of Kentucky State University for homecoming at 4 p.m., then the first of two Thursday night games when the Dragons of Lane College come a calling at 6 p.m.
Miles will round out the season with two road games starting with Stillman College on Thursday night, October 31 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at 7 p.m. and Tuskegee University on Saturday, November 9 at 1 p.m. in Tuskegee, Alabama.
