BCSP Notes . . .The NFL Europe football season is off to a good start, especially for a few former Mid Eastern Athletic Conference gridiron stars.Former North Carolina A&T running back Maurice Hicks, allocated to the Scottish Claymores by the Chicago Bears, set a new NFLEL record by running for a 93-yard touchdown in his team's 62-31 win over the two-time champion Berlin Thunder. Hicks rushed 12 times for 149 yards including a 32-yard TD run in the season opener for both teams. Hicks leads the league in rushing after one week. Former Hampton defensive back Travis Coleman returned an interception for a TD for Berlin. Former Florida A&M quarterback Quinn Gray also had a good first week completing five of 15 passes for 75 yards and leading the Frankfort Galaxy to a game-winning field goal. Below are the 22 black college players in NFL Europe this season.
