WOMEN'S BCSP HOOPS TOP TEN

1. HAMPTON (11-6) - Eight-game win streak ties them with DelState at top of MEAC. KEY GAME: Showdown with DelState on Monday (Feb. 3).

2. ALABAMA STATE (9-7) - Unbeaten in SWAC play (7-0) and on top of standings. KEY GAME: At Prairie View, Saturday (2/1).

3. DELAWARE STATE (9-7) - Seven non-conference losses to open season, eight MEAC wins since. KEY GAME: Battle at Hampton Monday for first place.

4. SOUTHERN (9-4) - Defending SWAC champs hanging in at 6-2 in league play. Key Game: At Alcorn State Saturday.

5. JACKSON STATE (12-4) - One of three teams battling for second place in SWAC. KEY GAME: Hosting Miss. Valley State Saturday.

6. GRAMBLING STATE (9-7) - Keeping pace with Southern and Jackson State in SWAC. KEY GAME: Hosting Miss. Valley St. Monday.

7. VIRGINIA UNION (13-3) - CIAA East Div. leading with 4-0 mark. KEY GAME: Battle at third-place Bowie State Tuesday (2/4).

(TIE) CLARK-ATLANTA (14-2) - Atop SIAC East race with 6-1 mark. KEY GAME: At Paine on Monday, Feb. 3.

8. SHAW (15-2) - Lady Bears have second best record amongst black colleges. KEY GAME: Saturday at Elizabeth City State.

9. FORT VALLEY STATE (15-3) Just behind Clark-Atlanta in SIAC East. KEY GAME: Hosting Howard Monday (2/3).

10. CENTRAL STATE (18-2) - Gliding along with best record among black college teams. Key Game: At Kentucky State, Feb. 1.

(TIE) FAYETTEVILLE STATE (10-6) - Eight-game winning streak got them to top of CIAA West. KEY GAME: At NC Central Tuesday.
