  • CIAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
    ANTOINE SIMS, 5-10, Sr., G, J. C. Smith, Buffalo, NY - Averaged 34.5 points, 2.5 assists and one steal as the Golden Bulls split two games. Sims had a season-high 41 points hitting eight of ten three point attempts in a 102-99 loss to Shaw. Sims raised his scoring average to 23.0 points per game.
    AMBA KONGOLO, 6-3, Sr., N.C.Central Kinshasa, Congo - In four games, Kongolo averaged 17.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, two blocks and two steals. Her best outing was against J. C. Smith where she tallied 28 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, had two blocks and two steals.
    ROOKIE

    HASSAN ROBINSON, 6-4, Fr., G, St. Paul's, Norfolk, VA - Had 33 points, six rebounds and two assists as the Tigers fell to Bowie State.
    LAURA GOSS, 5-10, Fr., F, J. C. Smith, Morrow, GA - Gross averaged 14 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals in three games for the Lady Bulls.
  • MEAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
    BRUCE JENKINS, 6-6, Sr., F, NC A&T, Silver Springs, MD - The Aggies got two wins as Jenkins totalled 49 points and 27 rebounds. He had 28 points and 15 rebounds against B-CC and had 21 points and 12 rebounds against Norfolk State including the game-winner on a 30-foot shot.
    SUWANNA TAYLOR, 6-1, Sr., F, Norfolk State, Virginia Beach, VA - In two games, Taylor scored 45 points and pulled down 20 rebounds. In her best outing, she had 20 and ten rebounds for her eighth double-double this season. For the week she shot 13 of 29 from the field and made 18 of 20 free throws.
    ROOKIE
    DEVIN GREEN, 6-5, Fr., G., Hampton, Columbus, OH - In two games, Green totalled 25 points nine rebounds and five assists. Against UMES, he had 15 points and seven rebounds.
    CANDACE CRAWFORD, 5-10, Fr., G, Florida A&M, Albany, GA - For the week, she scored 29 points, got 13 rebounds, eight assists and six steals. She had 15 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals in a loss to Howard.

    DESMOND MERRIWEATHER, 5-10, So., G, LeMoyne-Owen, Memphis, TN - Merriweather averaged 14.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 9.6 assists, 5.0 steals, 0.3 blocked shots.

  • SWAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
    NICHOLAS EGLAND, 6-6, Fr., F, Southern, Lake Charles, LA - Last week he paced the Jaguars to two wins averaging 25.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks and steals. In an 88-73 win over Miss. Valley St., he had 29 points and 12 rebounds. Against Alabama A&M he had 22 points, 13 rebounds, three blocks and three steals.
    JACLYN WINFIELd, 5-8, Sr., G, Southern, Wesson, MS - In two conference games, Winfield averaged 29.5 points, two rebounds, 4.5 assists and three steals. Her top game was against Alabama A&M, where she scored a season-high 36 points, got four rebounds, seven assists, five steals and was four-of-four at the free throw line.
  • INDEPENDENT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
    KELLY ADAMS, Central State - Paced five Lady Marauders in double figures with 19 points in a 102-52 blowout win over Kentucky State. Adams also had seven rebounds, five assists and two steals. The Lady Marauders led 56-19 at the half.
