  • CIAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
    MARCO SPEARS, 6-5, Jr., F, J. C. Smith, Buies Creek, NC - Scored 30 points, got six rebounds, three blocks and two steals as the Golden B ulls went 2-0. For the week, Spears shot 58% (20 of 35) from the field, 94% from the line (14 of 15) and made six of seven three-pointers.
    AMBA KONGOLO, 6-3, Sr., N.C.Central, Kinshasa, Congo - Averaged 31 points and 12 rebounds in two games for the Lady Eagles. She had a career-high 34 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in a loss to Fayetteville State.

    ROOKIE
    GREGORY MOUSTAPHA, 6-4, Fr., F, Elizabeth City State, Portsmouth, VA - Averaged 11.5 points, and eight rebounds as the Vikings won two games. Against Livingstone, he had 15 points, 11 rebounds.
    ALLYSON HARDY, 5-5, Fr., G, Bowie State, Germantown, MD - Averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 assists, 6.2 rebounds and four steals in four games last week. The Lady Bulldogs won all four contests.

  • MEAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
    MARTY BAILEY, 6-2, Sr., G, Delaware State, Easton, MD - In two wins for the Hornets last week, Bailey totalled 39 points including eight three-pointers. He best game was 21 points and six rebounds vs. Coppin State.
    LaSHONDRA DIXON, 5-5, Jr., G, Hampton, Sparta, Ga - In three wins, Dixon totalled 52 points, 15 rebounds and 14 assists. In a win over Tidwater rival Norfolk State, she had 21 points.

    ROOKIE
    DEVIN GREEN, 6-5, Fr., G., Hampton, Columbus, OH - In three wins last week, Green totaled 34 points, 17 rebounds, 10 assists, four steals and three blocked shots. In his best game, had 15 points, seven rebounds and two steals against UMES. This is the fifth time this season Green has received the honor.
    OCTAVIA THOMPSON, 5-11, So., G, Md.-Eastern Shore - Had a total of 20 points for the week, including 13 vs. Hampton where she added four rebounds, three assists, two steals and a blocked shot.

  • SIAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
    LARRY BOYKINS, 6-3, Jr., G, LeMoyne-Owen, Macon, MS - Averaged 25 points, 7 rebounds, 2.5 assists, one steal and one block.
    UMAR HAMIDULLAH, 6-6, So., F, Tuskegee, Hamilton, OH - Averaged 29 points, three rebounds, six assists, three steals and one block.
    MYQUITA MACKEY, 6-1, Jr., C, LeMoyne-Owen, Lithia Memphis, TN- Averaged 19.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks.

    SHERNIKA POWELL, Albany State - Averaged 17.5 points, 4.5 rebounds.
    TERENY SPRINGFIELD, Lane - Averaged 20 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and four steals.
    TALASHA THUES, Tuskegee - Averaged 6.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.5 blocks.
    KEITH BRANCH, Albany State - Averaged 12. 5 points, 9.5 rebounds
    YARI SCOTT, Paine - Averaged 23.0 points, 6.0 rebounds in a 2.1 week.

  • SWAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
    DESMOND CAMBRIDGE, 6-1, Sr., G, Alabama A&M, Nashville, TN - In two games, Cambridge averaged 27 points, 6.5 steals and 4.5 assists. Against Miss. Valley State, he had 36 points, six rebounds, four assists and eight steals. He continues to lead the nation in steals getting 5.6 per game. A&M is on an eight-game win streak and their win over Alabama State got them to second place in the conference. Cambridge had 18 points, three rebounds, five assists and five steals in the 57-51 win over Alabama State.
    SHAMEKA JACKSON, 5-10, Jr., F, Alabama State, Saginaw, MI - Repeats with honor after averaging 22.5 points, four rebounds, two steals and one assist. In her best game, she had 30 points, four steals, six rebounds, two assists and one block in a win Alabama A&M.
