  • CIAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
    RONALD MURRAY, 6-4, Sr., G, Shaw, Philadelphia, PA - Averaged 21.4 points, seven assists and 2.5 steals in two wins by the Bears last week. Murray had 31 points, five assists and two steals vs. Elizabeth City. Murray topped the 1,000-point total for his career.
    AMBA KONGOLO, 6-3, Sr., N.C.Central Kinshasa, Congo - In two games, Kongolo averaged 24 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocks in leading the Lady Eagles to two victories. Kongolo had 29 points, two steals, three assists, and three blocks in the 66-48 defeat of the J.C. Smith.

    ROOKIE
    DUAN CROCKETT, 6-6, Fr., G, Va, Union, Richmond, VA - Scored 25 points in Panthers' 63-54 defeat of St. Augustine's. In two games, Crockett had 41 points, seven assists and two steals.

    LASHONDA HORTON, WSSU, Fr., F, Greensville, NC - Horton recorded her eighth double-double of the season in a victory over the Lady Broncos of Fayetteville State. Horton ranks 4th in the nation in rebounding (9.1) and 20th in scoring (11.4).

  • MEAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
    DEXTER HALL, 6-9, Sr., F, SC State, Albany, GA - In three games last week, Hall totalled 42 points and 27 rebounds as th eBulldogs went 2-1. Hall had 19 points and 10 rebounds at NC A&T.
    KATRINA THAXTON, 5-5, Sr., G, Bethune-Cookman, Knoxville, TN - Thaxton totalled 32 points, seven steals, and 11 assists to win weekly award. She connected on five-of-12 from field in win over UMES.

    ROOKIE
    GIL GOODRICH, 5-10, Fr., G., Howard, Baltimore, MD - In two games, Goodrich totalled 20 points by connecting on seven of eight field goal attempts and 4 out of five free throw opportunities. His best performance came in the Bison's loss to N.C.A&T, where Goodrich scored 10 points, hitting on 4 of 4 field goal opportunities and 2 of 2 free throws.
    LAKISHA WILLS, 5-11, So., G, Coppin State, Baltimore, MD - Poured in 36 points in two game for the Lady Eagles, while pulling in 12 rebounds and picking up five steals. Her best game was against NCA&T where she scored 20 points.

  • SIAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
    YARI SCOTT, 6-3, Jr., G, Paine, Eatonton, GA - Averaged 21 points, 3.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks in games last week. Scott had 23 points Monday as Paine fell to Morehouse. Scott averaged 19.2 ppg., third best in the conference.
    APRIL LOVE, 5-10, Jr., F, Fort Valley State, Lithia Springs, Ga - Averaged 21.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 2.5 steals in games this past week. Love averages 16.0 points per game, second best in the SIAC.
  • SWAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
    ALVIN PETTWAY, 6-9, Sr., F/C, Alabama State, Montgomery, AL - In two games, Pettway averaged 19.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals. In his best game, Pettway had 21 points and pulled down 12 rebounds vs. Prairie View. He also had three steals and two assists.
    SHAMEKA JACKSON, 5-10, Jr., F, Alabama State, Saginaw, MI - In two conference victories, Winfield averaged 26.0 points per game, 7.5 rebounds, 1.0 blocks and 1.5 steals. In her best game at Miss. Valley State, she scored 36 points, had nine rebounds and one block in a double overtime win.
  • INDEPENDENT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
    GARRETT RICHARDSON, So., G, Tennessee State, El Paso, TX - Helped the Tigers to three big OVC wins last week, scoring in double figures in each game and pouring in a total of 53 points for the week. He shot 59 percent from the field and had 14 assists and eight steals. He made 10 of 13 shots against SE Missouri, scoring 24 points in the win.
