CEDRIC OGLESBY
5-10, 180, PK, Arizona Cardinals (SOUTH CAROLINA STATE)
In only his second NFL regular season game, Oglesby hit on three of three field
goals and all three extra points to account for 12 points in the Cardinals 30-7
win over Carolina. Oglesby, the only black placekicker in the NFL, hit field goals
of 41, 18 and 26 yards to give him four of five successful kicks since taking
over after an injury to Bill Grammatica. Oglesby was a high school teammate of
Rodney Williams, the NFL's only black punter with the New York Giants.
MICHAEL STRAHAN
6-5,
275, DE, New York Giants, (9th year, TEXAS SOUTHERN)
Although the Giants lost and fell out of playoff contention, Strahan did
his part. He registered five tackles, three-and-a-half of themsacks, as
the Giants fell to Philadelphia 24-21. The outing raised Strahan's sack total
to 21 1/2 for the season, breaking Giant legend Lawrence Taylor's record
of 21 set in 1986, Strahan is a half-sack away from Mark Gastineau's
NFL record (22). Taylor, a Hall of Fame linebacker, set the team mark in
the year he was NFL MVP and led the Giants to their first Super Bowl

Driver scored on a 31-yard reverse in Green Bay's win over Minnesota.
ORONDE GADSDEN, WR, Miami (WINSTON-SALEM STATE)
Three receptions for 15 yards including a two-yarder for
a score just before halftime in win over Atlanta.
MAURICE SMITH, RB, Atlanta (NORTH CAROLINA A&T)
Carried the ball 15 times for 38 yards including a two-yard first quarter
TD run,
and had 12 yards on one reception as Falcons lost to Miami.
SHANNON SHARPE, TE, Baltimore (SAVANNAH STATE)
Five receptions for 38 yards in loss to Tampa Bay.
ELVIS JOSEPH, RB, Jacksonville (SOUTHERN)
Ran six times for 29 yards, caught one pass for 24 yards and
returned one kickoff for 22 yards in loss to Kansas City.
Steve McNair, QB, Tennessee (ALCORN STATE)
Completed 16 of 25 passes for 274 yards and two touchdowns,
and ran five times for 34 yards in loss to 41-38 loss to Cleveland.
Jerry Rice, WR, Oakland (MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE)
Nine receptions for 108 yards in loss to Denver.

HUGH DOUGLAS, DE, Philadelphis (CENTRAL STATE)
Two tackles, one a sack, in the Eagles' 24-21 win over the New York Giants.
Douglas has 9 1/2 sacks on the season.
EARL HOLMES, LB, Pittsburgh (FLORIDA A&M)
Seven tackles, one assist in overtime loss to Cincinnati.
PEPPI ZELLNER, DE, Dallas (FORT VALLEY STATE)
Zellner had four tackles and two assists as the Cowboy defense shut
down San Francisco, and spearheaded a 24-10 upset.
ROBERT PORCHER, DE, Detroit (SOUTH CAROLINA STATE)
Four tackles including a sack in shutout loss to Chicago.
Porcher has 11 sacks on the season.
EDDIE ROBINSON, LB, Tennessee (ALABAMA STATE)
