RAYMOND APPLEBERRY, 6-3, Sr., G, Jackson State - Finished with 26 points,
ten rebounds, one assist and two steals vs. Alabama A&M.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Victor Tarver, 5-8, Jr., G, Southern - Had 45 points in two games including
five rebounds, nine assists and two steals.
Jamel Gooding, 6-6, Jr, F, Grambling - Had 11 points, 14 rebounds, two assists
and one steal vs. Alabama State.
- SIAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
CHARLES BOYD, 6-7, Sr., F, Fort Valley State - Had 15 points, nine rebounds,
two assists, two steals and six blocks in the Wildcats only game.
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Amos Conyers, Tuskegee - Averaged 28 points, six rebounds and two steals
in two Golden Tiger games.
Jonathan Nelson, Fort Valley State - Averaged 11.5 points, 4.5 rebounds,
2.5 steals and 2.5 assists as Wildcats split two games.
- MEAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
KYLE WILLIAMS, 6-6, Jr., G, Howard - In two wins, averaged 30.5 points, while
shooting 57% from the field, including 54% from the three-point line. WIlliams
also had eight rebounds, six assists, five steals and blocked four shots.
ROOKIE
CHAKOWBY HICKS, 6-4, Fr., G, Norfolk State - Totalled 17 points, six rebounds,
four assists and three steals as Spartans went 1-1. Hicks had ten points, four
rebounds and two steals in a non-conference win over Maine.
- CIAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
JAMAL SHIVERS, 6-4, Sr., G, Bowie State - In three games, Shivers averaged
17 points, four rebounds and two steals while shooting 76% from the field including
67% from behind the arc. Shivers scored 20 in a win over Livingstone.
ROOKIE
HASSAN ROBINSON, 6-4, Fr., G, St. Paul's - Had 16 points and five rebounds
vs. Bowie State.
