JAKE REED
6-2, 235, QB, Minnesota Vikings, (7th year, GRAMBLING)
Three receptions for 46 yards including a 20-yard TD pass from
Todd Bouman in the second quarter in win over Tennessee. On the TD pass,
Bouman lofted a pass to Reed in the corner of the end zone. It was tipped
by Michael Booker and caught with one hand by Reed to put the Vikings
ahead 14-10 with 40 seconds left. Then they scored twice in the first 41/2
minutes of the third quarter to take control.
AENEAS WILLIAMS
5-11, 200, DB, St. Louis Rams (11th year, SOUTHERN)
Four tackles and two interceptions of San Francisco QB Jeff Garcia in
27-14 win over the 49ers. On the third play of the game, Williams
intercepted Garcia's pass intended for Terrell Owens, setting up a touchdown and
setting the tone for the Rams' victory. "When we got that turnover early,
I think we were able to create just a little doubt," Williams said. "It gave
us an advantage in the end."

Completed 25 of 32 passes for 302 yards and two touchdowns with
no interceptions in loss to Minnesota. Also rushed
four times for 22 yards including a fumble.
Scotty Anderson, WR, Detroit (GRAMBLING)
Two receptions for 31 yards in loss to Tampa Bay.
Carolina (WINSTON-SALEM STATE)
12 carries for 67 yards including a two-yard TD run. Also had
two reception for seven yards in loss to Buffalo.
Maurice Smith, RB, Atlanta (NORTH CAROLINA A&T)
Ran 12 times for seven yards including a one-yard run that opened the scoring in the Falcons loss
to New Orleans. He also caught one pass for 17 yards.
Jerry Rice, WR, Oakland (MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE)
Five receptions for 57 yards including a eight-yard
second quarter TD pass in win over Kansas City.
Oronde Gadsden, WR, Miami (WINSTON-SALEM STATE)
Four receptions for 27 yards including a nine-yard fourth quarter TD pass.
Elvis Joseph, RB, Jacksonville (SOUTHERN)
Ran six times for 18 yards, caught two passes for 15 yards
and returned a kickoff 28 yards in win over Cincinnati.
DEFENSE
Anthony Pleasant, DE, New England (TENNESSEE STATE)
No tackles but an interception in win over Cleveland.
Eddie Robinson, LB, Tennessee (ALABAMA STATE)
Four tackles in loss to Minnesota.
Michael Strahan, DE, New York Giants (TEXAS SOUTHERN)
Four tackles and one sack, his 17th, in loss to Dallas.
Grady Jackson, DT, Oakland (Knoxville)
Three tackles, two assists in win over Kansas City.
Greg Wesley, SS, Kansas City (ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF)
Five tackles, and a fumble recovery in 28-26 loss to Oakland.
