JERRY RICE
6-2, 195, WR, Oakland Raiders, (17th year, MISS. VALLEY ST.)
Pulled in eight receptions for 131 yards and three TDs as the Raiders got by San Diego, 34-24. It was the record-setting receiverÕs best game since joining the Raiders (7-2) in the offseason, It was his first 100-yard receiving game since the 1999 season finale with the San Francisco 49ers. Rice, who has scored more TDs than anybody in the game's history, hadn't scored three in a game since Dec. 18, 1995. "I feel like Bill Walsh created this monster," Rice said of his longtime coach and mentor. "He told me I always had to make plays, and the last three years, it didn't happen. ... I'm feeling a lot more comfortable now, though. The explosion is still there. I still feel like I can run away from guys."
EARL HOLMES
6-2, 245, LB, Pittsburgh Steelers, (6th year, FLORIDA A&M)
Holmes led a stout defense that shut out the Jacksonville offense in a 20-7 Steelers
win. Holmes led the Steelers with six tackles and three assists as they improved
to an AFC-best 7-2. Holmes helped hold the Jaguars to 48 rushing yards in 16 carries.
The only Jacksonville score came on a 95-yard kickoff return TD from rookie Elvis
Joseph out of Southern University.

Ran five times for 68 yards and completed 16 of 25 passes for 172 yards and a
TD in win over Cincinnati.
