Maurice Smith
6-0, 235, RB, Atlanta Falcons, (2nd year, NORTH CAROLINA A&T)
Had his biggest day as a professional and first 100-yard rushing outing of his
two-year career, carrying 27 times for 148 yards against Dallas. Smith had a 54-yard
run in the first half following a Dallas score to set up Michael Vick for his
first career touchdown pass to Alge Crumpler two plays later.
Troy Hambrick
6-1, 255, RB, Dallas Cowboys, (2nd year, SAVANNAH STATE)
Hambrick had 20 carries for 127 yards in loss to Atlanta. On their first offensive
drive, the Cowboys went 74 yards in 13 plays, running the ball 12 times. Hambrick,
who had a 36-yard run, and Michael Wiley both ran well to set up a 28-yard field
goal by Tim Seder. The Cowboys moved the ball later behind strong running from
Hambrick, who went over the 100-yard mark after a 47-yard run off left tackle.

for a 4-yard touchdown to give the Jaguars a 14-13 lead early in the third period.
