homecoming game leading the Bulldogs. SCSU (2-5, 1-3 MEAC)

Bethune-Cookman drew a record crowd of 16,725 to the 2001 homecoming game at the city of Daytona Beach's Memorial Stadium vs. North Carolina A&T Saturday but had massive traffic problems. Additionally, the field's play clock did not work requiring officials to keep time on the field. B-CC had five delay-of-game penalties in a 16-14 loss. Alabama native and former NBA great Charles Barkley was the grand marshall for the Magic City Classic parade in Birmingham Saturday. Barkley, members of the Tuskegee Airmen and Herman Boone, the North Carolina Central graduate portrayed by actor Denzel Washington in the film, Remember the Titans, were among the special guests for the parade and the game won by Alabama State, 35-0 over Alabama A&M. The MCC drew a crowd of 55,133 to Birmingham's Legion Field. Florida A&M quarterback Quinn Gray, despite tying a career high with five interceptions Saturday against Hampton, also became the school's career leader in touchdown passes. His four TD tosses gives him 56 in his career breaking the record of 52 by Tony Ezell. Gray also passed Ezell for second place on the school's career passing yardage list. He is at 6,811 yards, 15 yards short of Oteman Sampson. Gray is on pace to break the school's marks for passing yards and total offense this season. Gray has 7,340 total yards, 256 short of Sampson's mark for total offense.
