wins over Howard and WSSU. Had 16 pts., 7 boards
vs. HU, 18 pts., 5 assists vs. WSSU.

Marques Oliver, 6-7, Fr., F, DSU - In 1-1
week, Oliver scored 24 points, got 11 rebounds and
5 blocks. Had 12 points in win over FAMU, another
12 in loss to MSU.
DEFENSE
Tyler Hines, 6-6, So., F/C, UMES - 13 rebounds
vs. Coppin State, 18 rebounds in two games.

Scored in double figures and averaged 15.3 points
in three Panther wins getting 13 in win over
Morehouse, another 13 in win over Fort Valley State and
team-high 20 in win over Miles.

Lebaron Weathers, 6-8, Sr., F, Ark.-Pine
Bluff - Led UAPB to two overtime victories at home vs. SWAC Texas teams. Scored
UAPB's last five points including winning jumper in
overtime that gave the Golden Lions a 57-55 win
over Prairie View Saturday. Had game-highs of 21 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks. Came back
in Monday's 57-53 OT win vs. Texas Southern to score 8 points, grab 7 rebounds and get 3 blocks.
INDEPENDENT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Cole Prophet, 5-5, So, G, CENTRAL STATE -
Led Marauders with 16 points in win over UDC, came back to get 18 points, 5 boards
in win over St. Joe Colle.
Jason Emerson, 6-1, Sr., G, WVSU - Had 8 3-pointers in back-to-back games, getting
24 points all on 3s in win over Bluefield Sate, added 26 points in win over Concord.

Scored CIAA-best 18.9 points per game, also got 7.2
rebounds per game and shot 44.9% from the field
ROOKIE
Talaya Lynch, 5-7, Fr., G, CHOWAN -
Averaged 11.3 points, shot 32.5% from 3-point range
canning 1.5 per game. Also made 68.9% FTs and
averaged 1.9 steals per game.
DEFENSE
Deja Middleton, 6-4, So., C, FAYETTEVILLE
STATE - Led league at 2.0 blocks per game, 9.2 rebounds
per contest was second best.

James Hill, VIRGINIA STATE - Led Lady Trojans
to national ranking, top seed in CIAA tourney.

Demetria Frank, Jr., G, B-CU - Grabbed 16
rebounds and 8 steals to go along with 32 points
and 4 assists in 2 wins.

first place. Scored 23 points and had 4 rebounds in
win over Alcorn State. Added 18 points and 5 rebounds in win over Southern.

Marchelle Jones, So., G, XAVIER - Jones,
a sophomore point guard, had 12 points, four assists and three steals to help the Gold
Nuggets win 50-36 at Loyola and earn their first Gulf Coast Athletic Conference
regular-season championship since 2004-05.
