MEN

CIAA PLAYERS OF THE YEAR
PLAYER
Duke Crews, 6-8, Sr., F, BOWIE STATE - Averaged double-double of 16.8 points and league-leading 10.3 rebounds for second-place Bulldogs. Also rankekd second in blocks (2.5 bpg.)
ROOKIE
Angelos Sharpless, 6-4, Fr., G, ECSU - In 15 games averaged 13.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, shot 56.2% from the field, 52.2% from 3-point range.
DEFENSE
Travis Hyman, 6-11, So., C, BOWIE STATE - CIAA -best 4.0 blocks per game, 10.3 points per game and 6.5 rebounds per game.
COACH
Lonnie Blow, Jr., ST. AUGUSTINE'S - Led Falcons to top seed in CIAA tourney.

MEAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
Michael Deloach, 6-0, Sr., G, NSU - Averaged 17.0 points, 4 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals in wins over Howard and WSSU. Had 16 pts., 7 boards vs. HU, 18 pts., 5 assists vs. WSSU.
ROOKIE
Marques Oliver, 6-7, Fr., F, DSU - In 1-1 week, Oliver scored 24 points, got 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. Had 12 points in win over FAMU, another 12 in loss to MSU.
DEFENSE
Tyler Hines, 6-6, So., F/C, UMES - 13 rebounds vs. Coppin State, 18 rebounds in two games.

SIAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
David Brown, 6-4, Jr., G/F, CLARK ATLANTA - Scored in double figures and averaged 15.3 points in three Panther wins getting 13 in win over Morehouse, another 13 in win over Fort Valley State and team-high 20 in win over Miles.

SWAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
Lebaron Weathers, 6-8, Sr., F, Ark.-Pine Bluff - Led UAPB to two overtime victories at home vs. SWAC Texas teams. Scored UAPB's last five points including winning jumper in overtime that gave the Golden Lions a 57-55 win over Prairie View Saturday. Had game-highs of 21 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks. Came back in Monday's 57-53 OT win vs. Texas Southern to score 8 points, grab 7 rebounds and get 3 blocks.

INDEPENDENT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
Cole Prophet, 5-5, So, G, CENTRAL STATE - Led Marauders with 16 points in win over UDC, came back to get 18 points, 5 boards in win over St. Joe Colle.
Jason Emerson, 6-1, Sr., G, WVSU - Had 8 3-pointers in back-to-back games, getting 24 points all on 3s in win over Bluefield Sate, added 26 points in win over Concord.

WOMEN

CIAA PLAYERS OF THE YEAR
PLAYER
Tonaye Smith, 5-11, Sr., F, VA. UNION - Scored CIAA-best 18.9 points per game, also got 7.2 rebounds per game and shot 44.9% from the field
ROOKIE
Talaya Lynch, 5-7, Fr., G, CHOWAN - Averaged 11.3 points, shot 32.5% from 3-point range canning 1.5 per game. Also made 68.9% FTs and averaged 1.9 steals per game.
DEFENSE
Deja Middleton, 6-4, So., C, FAYETTEVILLE STATE - Led league at 2.0 blocks per game, 9.2 rebounds per contest was second best.
COACH
James Hill, VIRGINIA STATE - Led Lady Trojans to national ranking, top seed in CIAA tourney.
MEAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSE
April McBride, Sr., F, UMES - Averaged 30.7 points and 8.7 rebounds in two games, 31 points,7 rebounds in loss to FAMU, 27 points, 12 boards vs.B-CU.
ROOKIE
Saadia Doyle, Fr., F, HOWARD - Totalled 34 points and 22 rebounds in two games, getting 17 pts., 11 rebs., vs. NSU, 17 pts., 11 rebs. vs. FAMU.
DEFENSE
Demetria Frank, Jr., G, B-CU - Grabbed 16 rebounds and 8 steals to go along with 32 points and 4 assists in 2 wins.
SIAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
Kendra Evans, FORT VALLEY STATE - Got 9 points, 9 rebounds in win over Clark Atlanta, 8 points, 5 boards in win over Benedict.
SWAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
Katrich Williams, 5-8, Sr., G, ALABAMA A&M - Averaged 20.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in two wins as A&M moved to within a half-game of first place. Scored 23 points and had 4 rebounds in win over Alcorn State. Added 18 points and 5 rebounds in win over Southern.
INDEPENDENT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
Marchelle Jones, So., G, XAVIER - Jones, a sophomore point guard, had 12 points, four assists and three steals to help the Gold Nuggets win 50-36 at Loyola and earn their first Gulf Coast Athletic Conference regular-season championship since 2004-05.
