CIAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
Jaleel Nelson, 6-5, Sr., G, CHOWAN - Averaged 19.5 points in two games helping Hawks to 2-0 week. Had 26 vs. FSU and 13 vs. ECSU. Hawks are unbeaten in January.
ROOKIE
Angelo Sharpless, 6-4, Fr., G, ECSU - Had 22 points and 10 rebounds in win over Lincoln.
NEWCOMER
Aaron Carruthers, 6-1, Sr., G, LC - Averaged 17.5 points, 4 rebounds and 3.5 assists in two games,
COACH
Lonnie Blow, St. Augustine's - Led team to wins over Bowie State and ECSU to improve to 13-2, 8-2.

MEAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
Reggie Holmes, 6-4, Sr., G, MSU - Averaged 25 points in two Bear wins getting 22 in victory over WSSU and 28 in win over DelState.
ROOKIE
Dadrian Collins, 6-5, Fr., F, HOWARD - Averaged 17.5 points in two games, totalling 21 in win over NSU and 14 in win over FAMU. Finished 13 of 25 from the field.
DEFENSE
Kevin Thompson, 6-8, So., F, MSU - Recorded 12th double-double, 10 points, 12 rebounds, 3 blocks and 1 steal vs. WSSU. Had another 7 rebounds vs. DelState.

SIAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
Najee Lane, 6-4, Jr., G/F, CAU - In two wins vs. the Panthers nearest contenders for SIAC honors, Lane averaged 19 points per game, getting 25 points and 11 boards in win over Tuskegee and 14 points and 6 rebounds in win over Stillman.

SWAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
Deandre Hall, 6-6, Sr., G, TSU - Led Tigers into first place with two wins, getting career-high 37 points, 5 steals and 3 assists in one-point (74-73) win over MVSU Saturday and team-high 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in 3-point win (70-67) over Arkansas-Pine Bluff Monday. Was 8 of 16 from the field vs. UAPB, 17 of 25 vs. MVSU. Shot 25 of 41 (60.9%) for the week.

INDEPENDENT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
Gino Smith, 6-6, Sr., F, CENTRAL STATE - Averaged 15.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in wins over Kentucy State (13 pts., 10 reb.) and Marygrove (18 pts., 9 rebs.).
Josh Miller, 5-7, Jr., G, WVSU - Scored game-high 27 points, had 5 assists and rebounds in win over Ohio Valley, added 15 points, 9 assists in loss to Alderson-Broaddus.

WOMEN

PLAYER
Tanisha McGaughey, 5-10, Sr., G, SHAW - Averaged 19 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists in two games.
ROOKIE
Khalia Boston, 5-6, Fr., G, LC - In three games, averaged 8 points, 1 assist and 1.3 steals. Got career-high 19 points vs. Lincoln.
NEWCOMER
Kenyatta Gill, Jr., F, ECSU - Averaged 15 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4 assists in two games.
COACH
Donna Polk, BSU - Led Lady Bulldogs to road win over JC Smith and home win vs. St. Aug's and Shaw to improve to 10-2 in CIAA, top of the women's race.

MEAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSE
Quanneisha Perry, 5-10, Jr., F, HAMPTON - Scored career-high 31 points and pulled down 14 boards in one-point loss to NC A&T, added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists in win over B-CU.
ROOKIE
Saadia Doyle, 5-11, Fr., F, HOWARD - Averaged 16 points, 8 rebounds in two MEAC games.Had 23 points, 12 boards vs. FAMU, her 11th double-double of season.
DEFENSE
Qiana Donald, 6-0, So., G/F, FAMU - Grabbed 25 rebonds, had 3 blocks and 1 steal in two games.

SIAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
Charvev Holmes, 5-7, Jr., F, BENEDICT - In two wins that propelled Lady Tigers into third place, Holmes scored game-high 27 points and had 11 rebounds in win over Miles and came back to get 16 points and 8 boards in win over Lemoyne-Owen. Averaged 21.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in the two wins, while shooting 10 of 21 from the field, 5 of 8 from 3-point range and 18 of 20 from the FT line.

SWAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
Latara Darrett, 5-10, Jr., G, PV A&M - Averaged 21.5 points, 6.5 rebounds in two wins that kept the Lady Panthers on top of SWAC race. Tallied career-high 29 points and got 7 boards vs. MVSU and added 14 points six rebounds in win over UAPB.
Jasmine Cannon, 5-5, So., G, TSU - Averaged 18.5 points in two wins that kept the Lady Tigers in contention in SWAC standings. Got 20 points and 4 assists in win over UAPB and added 17 points in win over MVSU.

INDEPENDENT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
Melissa Ford, 5-10, Jr., G/F, WVSU - Averaged double-double of 16 points and 12.5 rebounds in two wins. Had 20 points and 13 rebounds in win over Ohio Valley and added 12 points and 10 boards in win over Concord.
Lillian McGill, 6-0, Jr., F, UDC - Shot 10 of 13 from the field scoring 20 points and pulled down 16 boards in win over Apprentice School.
Brittany Powell, 6-0, F, XAVIER - Had 26 points and 11 rebounds in win over Loyola and 27 points and 5 boards in win over William Carey.
