MEAC Basketball Luncheon
The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference will host the annual
Basketball Press Luncheon, Tuesday, October 9 at the Sheraton Raleigh (N.C) Hotel
in beginning at noon.
The press luncheon provides media and fans an opportunity to get first-hand news and updates on the 2007-08 basketball season from MEAC head coaches. Local media outlets are invited to participate in one-on-one interviews with head coaches prior to the luncheon. Head coaches of the women's programs will be available at 9:30 a.m., followed by the head coaches of the men's teams beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Tickets for the press luncheon are available to the public for $20 per seat or $200 per table. Members of the media may obtain a credential to the interview session by contacting the MEAC Media Relations Office at (757) 416-7100 in the Governor's Ballroom 1 & 2.
The 2007-08 MEAC basketball preseason is highlighted by the Delaware State basketball programs who will compete in both the men and women's preseason National Invitation Tournaments. The defending MEAC women's champion Lady Hornets will face the University of Delaware on Friday, Nov. 9. The men's team will face Columbia University in the opening round Nov. 12 on the campus of Ohio State University. The MEAC basketball tournament is slated for March 10-15, 2008 at the RBC Center in Raleigh.
