DEFENSE
  • ANTOINE BETHEA, S, Indianapolis (HOWARD) - Rookie led the Colts with eight solo tackles and four assists in win over Jacksonville.
  • NICK COLLINS, DB, Green Bay (BETHUNE-COOKMAN) - Led the Packers for the second week in a row in tackles, posting six with one assist, in win over Detroit.

    OFFENSE
  • STEVE McNAIR, 6-2, 235, QB, Tennessee (10th year, ALCORN STATE) - Completed 23 of 41 passes for 264 yards and one TD, a three-yarder to TE Todd Heap, with no interceptions as the Ravens stayed undefeated with a win over Cleveland.

    OTHER TOP PERFORMANCES

    OFFENSE
  • DARIAN BARNES, FB, Miami (HAMPTON) - Had two receptions for nine yards in win over Tennessee.
  • MAURICE HICKS, RB, San Francisco (NORTH CAROLINA A&T) - Totalled 80 all-purpose yards in loss to Philadelphia. Hicks had one carry for three yards, caught four passes for 42 yards and returned two kickoffs for 35 yards (17.5 avg.).
  • DONALD DRIVER, 6-0, 188, WR, Green Bay (6th year, Alcorn State) - Had three receptions for 20 yards including a five-yard TD pass from QB Brett Favre in the third quarter of the Packers' first victory of the season over Detroit.

    DEFENSE
  • GRADY JACKSON, DT, Atlanta (KNOXVILLE) - One solo tackle, one assist in loss to New Orleans.
  • CURTIS DeLOATCH, DB, New Orleans (NC A&T) - Had three solo tackles and recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for the Saints' opening score in their triumphant return to the Super Dome vs. Atlanta.
  • RASHEAN MATHIS, 6-1, 200, DB, Jacksonville (BETHUNE-COOKMAN) - Three solo tackles and one assist in the Jags' first loss fo the season to Indianapolis.
  • ROBERT MATHIS, 6-2, 235, DE, Indianapolis (ALABAMA A&M) - Four tackles and one assist in win over Jacksonville
  • Nick Harper, 5-10, 182, CB, Indianapolis (5th year, FORT VALLEY STATE) - Two solo tackles, one assist in win over Jacksonville.
  • MICHAEL STRAHAN, 6-5, 275, DE, New York Giants (13th year, Texas Southern) - Five solo tackles and four assists in loss to Seattle.
  • FAKHIR BROWN, DB, St. Louis (GRAMBLING STATE) - Three solo tackles and one interception, his second of the season, in win over Arizona.
  • LOUIS GREEN, LB, Denver (ALCORN STATE) - Two solo tackles in win over New England.
