NABIL SAGBINI, Sr., OF, B-CC, Barranquilla, Columbia - Batted .471 with nine RBI to lead Wildcats to 3-1 week. Hit seventh and eighth HRs of the season including agrand slam vs. NC A&T.
PITCHER
JOEY SEAL, So., P, NSU, Newport News, VA - Was 1-0 with first save of the year against UMES. Did not allow an earned run in either game.
ROOKIE
JOSE ORTIZ-RIVERA, Fr., OF, B-CC, Puerto Rico - Hit .462 with 1 RBI, one triple, six hits and five runs. Leads the MEAC in runs scored with 39.

INDEPENDENT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Michael Ziewicki, West Virginia State, Jr., Cheektowaga, NY - Ziewicki blanked #7 Ashland over six relief innings to help West Virginia State prevail in a battle of nationally ranked Top 10 clubs. He struck out five and did not walk any, while only giving up a pair of hits.

MARIO SPANN, Sr., OF, SU Baton Rouge, LA -In 2-0 week, hit .727 (8-11) with one triple, 1 HR and 2 RBI. had 13 total bases and a .750 OBP.
PITCHER

NATASHA STEELE, Sr., P, NSU, Topeka, KS - Had a no-hitter vs. Howard en route to going 3-1 with 1.52 ERA. Did not allow an earned run in three of four starts.
ROOKIE
TIFFANY JOHNSON, Fr., IN/P, FAMU, Atlanta, GA - Went 3-0 giving up seven hits and one earned run in 19 innings. Pitched no-hitter in 10-0 win over Coppin St. Had 20 strikeouts in the week.

SWAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
MELISSA Mason, Jr., Alcorn State - Braves were 6-0 on the week, Mason had 12 hits in 22 at-bats (.545) while getting three doubles, a triple and a HR with nine RBI. Was also 6-6 in stolen bases.
PITCHER
ANALISA GONZALES, Fr., PV A&M - Went 3-0 while pitching 19 innings with three complete games. Allowed one earned run while walking three and striking out 21. She had two shutouts with a 0.37 ERA while holding batters to .197 average.
