CIAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
DUAN CROCKETT, 6-6, Sr., G/F, VA. UNION, Richmond, VA - Averaged 24.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2.3 steals and 2 blocks in three wins. He had 29 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.
ROOKIE
BRUCE ROYAL, 5-10, Fr., G, ST. PAUL'S, Newport News, VA - In two games, averaged 15.5 points, 7 rebounds and 5.5 assists. Tallied 23 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 steals in win over VSU.

DAVE ROBBINS, Va. Union - Nine straight wins, three over the past week, for D2's No. 1 team.

MEAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
THURMAN ZIMMERMAN, 6-6, Sr., F, SC STATE, Columbia, SC - Averaged 12 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead Bulldogs to back-to-back wins for the first time this season. In knocking off DelState, he had 10 points, 9 boards and 5 assists. This is the first POW award for the former league POY.
ROOKIE
TYWAIN McKEE, 6-2, So., G, COPPIN STATE, Philadelphia, PA - Averaged 15.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 1-1 week. He had 17 vs. UMES and 14 vs. B-CC. This is his fourth ROW award.

INDEPENDENT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
CLARENCE MATTHEWS, 6-7, Jr., F, TENNESSEE STATE, Beaumont, TX - Became the first OVC player to post double-doubles in three consecutive games getting 48 points and 36 rebounds for the week, averages of 16 points and 12 rebounds per game. The best outing was 22 points and 14 rebounds vs. Samford. He shot 47.4% from the floor and 60% from the line. He now has a league-high six double-doubles. Also has seven blocks, six steals and five assists.
CHRIS DUNN, 6-3, Sr., G, W. VA. STATE, Columbus, OH - Posted a triple double, 10 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists in a win over Shepherd.
JERRON McCISKILL, 6-8, So, G/F, CHEYNEY, Lakeland, FL - Had 26 points as Cheyney defeated Kutztown in OT.

SIAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
MONYEA PRATT, 6-6, Jr., F, STILLMAN, Birmingham, AL - Averaged 12.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.7 steals in wins over Lane and Paine and loss to kentucky State.

SWAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
BRION RUSH, 6-2, Sr., G, GRAMBLING STATE, Shreveport, LA - Got a career- and SWAC season-high 53 points vs. Southern as the Tigers temporarily knocked the Jags out of first place. Rush hit on 14 of 40 field goal attempts including 5 of 21 threes and converted 20 of 26 field goals in the win as the Tigers tied Southern for first place. Rush had 25 points as the Tigers fell to Alcorn State, 75-71 Monday night. Rush averaged 39 ppg. for the two games.

WOMEN

CIAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
ALLYSON SWAILES, 6-2, So., F, BOWIE STATE, Silver Springs, MD - In two games, averaged 31.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2 assists. She had a season-high 39 points and added 19 rebounds and six steals vs. ECSU.
ROOKIE
KANTANIA WALKER, 5-5, Fr., G, VA. STATE, Va. Beach, VA - Had 20 points, 4 steals and 2 assists in win over St. Paul's
COACH
JACQUES CURTIS, SHAW - 2-0 week, 68th straight CIAA wins. Lady Bears are 17-4, 11-0 in CIAA.

MEAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
MELLONI BENSON, 6-2, Jr., F, HOWARD, Dayton, OH - In two wins, averaged 17 points and 4 rebounds while shooting 56.5% from the field. Had 19 vs. Morgan State, 15 vs. Norfolk State.
ROOKIE
DOMINISHA BRITTON, 5-3, So., G, MORGAN STATE, Suisun, CA - Averaged 14.5 ppg., and 3.5 rpg., in 1-1 week. She had 9 points, 1 rebound vs. Howard and 20 points, 6 boards vs. FAMU.

INDEPENDENT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
MARINA RANDALL, 5-8, Fr., G, CHEYNEY, Philadelphia, PA - Scored 17 points as the Lady Wolves lost to Kutztown.
LESLIE DEAN, Sr., F, TENN. STATE - Averaged 18.3 points per game as the struggling Lady Tigers lost three games.

SIAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
SHEKIYA TARPKINS, 5-11, So., G, FORT VALLEY STATE, Covington, GA - Averaged 16.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 3.0 steals as the Lady Cats won three games to extend their streak to 15 straight.

SWAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
SHELITA BURNS, 6-1, Jr., F, JACKSON STATE, Jackson, MS - Scored 25 points and pulled down 6 rebounds as the Lady Tigers upended Southern and moved into a first place tie with the Lady Jags. Burns also had 10 points and 7 rebounds as the Lady Tigers beat Alcorn State. Burhs averaged 17.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in the two games.
