ROOKIE
ANTHONY HILLIARD, 6-3, Fr., G, ECSU, Fayetteville, NC - In two games, averaged 14 points, 4.5 rebounds including 17 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal in win over Fayetteville State.

TONY TATE, 5-11, G, FAMU, Jersey City, NJ - Averaged 25.5 points, 6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2 steals in win over over SC State (25 pts.) and UMES (26 pts).
ROOKIE
TALMADGE BELL, 6-2, Fr., G, Coppin State, Cincinnati, OH - Averaged 12 points as the Eagles split a pair of games. He was 8 of 19 from the floor and 7 of 15 from 3-point range.

INDEPENDENT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
CLARENCE MATTHEWS, 6-7, Jr., F, TENNESSEE STATE, Beaumont, TX - Scored career-high 28 points hitting on 8 of 9 field goals and 12 of 13 FTs and added a game-high 10 rebounds vs. E. Illinois.
WILLIAM GAINES, CENTRAL STATE - Scored 23 points on 7 of 12 shooting including 3 of 5 3-pointers in win over Knoxville.

BRANDON CHILDS, 6-1, Sr., G, MOREHOUSE, Conyers, GA - Averaged 18.3 ppg., 4.7 rpg., 3.1 apg., 1.3 spg., and 3 blocks shots in three Maroon Tigers games.
JOSHUA OBINJUNWA, 6-6, Jr., F, BENEDICT, Jos, Nigeria - In wins over Albany State and Fort Valley State he averaged 17 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4 steals for the Tigers.

SWAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
DeFORREST RILEY-SMITH, 6-9, Jr., F, SOUTHERN, Ruleville, MS - Averaged 16.5 points and 6.5 rebounds as the Jags swept the SWAC Alabama schools Saturday and Monday. Riley-Smith had 21 points and 7 rebounds in Saturday's 72-65 win over Alabama A&M and 12 points and 6 boards in Monday's 72-68 OT win vs. Alabama State.

CHELSEA JETER, 5-8, Fr., G, FSU, Baltimore, MD - Averaged 12.3 ppg., 8.3 rpg., 1.6 blocks and 1 assist. Had 16 points, 11 rebounds vs. ECSU.

NICOLE BROWN, 6-0, Jr., F, SC STATE, Toledo, OH - In two wins, averaged 16.5 points and 13.5 rebounds while shooting 72% (13 of 18) from the floor. She had 21 points and 16 boards vs. MSU.
ROOKIE
SHALAMAR OAKLEY, 5-6, So., G, COPPIN STATE, Camden, NJ - Average 14 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals and 3.5 assists in two games. She set a career high with 24 points vs. Hampton where she was 7 of 12 from the field and 10 of 11 from the line.

INDEPENDENT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
NATASHA GALLOWAY, Fr., C, CENTRAL State - Scored 20 points and pulled down 6 rebounds as Lady Marauders overwhelmed Knoxville 94-15.

NATASHA GRAY, 5-11, Jr., F, BENEDICT, Long Beach, CA - Averaged 14.5 poings, 10 rebounds, 6 steals and 1.5 blocked shots in two games.
DEBORAH JONES, 6-2, Jr., C, FORT VALLEY STATE, Birmingham, AL - Averaged 10.6 ppg., 12 rebounds adn 2.3 assists in three wins for nationally ranked Lady Wildcats.

SWAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
LATILLE ROSS, 5-11, F, ALABAMA STATE - Had 14 points and 14 rebounds in a loss to Alcorn State but came back to get 16 points and 9 rebounds as the Lady Hornets knocked off SWAC frontrunner Southern.
