GOLATT STEPS DOWN: Moses Golatt, the head coach of the Virginia Union women's basketball team for 14 of the past 16 seasons, has resigned due to personal reasons. His resignation is effective immediately. Golatt, 61, who has a 237-186 record, began his VUU coaching career in 1988. He left the program after the 1998-99 season, but returned to the helm of the Lady Panthers in 2001-02. The Lady Panthers are 4-5 this season under Golatt as they entered their CIAA opener last week against Winston-Salem State. VUU Athletic Director Michael Bailey announced that Senior Woman Administrator Queen Frazier will become Head of Women's Basketball Operations and Bryan Underwood will become the Lady Panthers' Interim Head Coach.
