CIAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
CHARLES CLARK, 6-6, Sr., F, JCSU, Greenville, NC - Hit on 11 of 13 shots for a game-high 26 points to lead Golden Bulls over Div. II No. 1 Virginia Union.
ROOKIE
CHARLES FUTRELL, 6-6, Fr., F, NCCU, Fayetteville, NC - Had 14 points, six boards in win over Fayetteville State
COACH
STEVE JOYNER, JC SMITH - Guided Bulls to 87-77 win over Va. Union, one week after losing to VUU by 14 in Holiday Hoops Classic.

MEAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
JAZ COWEN, 6-9, jr., F, HAMPTON, Baltimore, MD - Averaged 21 points and 10.5 rebounds in wins over B-CC and UMES. Had career-highs of 23 points and 12 rebounds vs. B-CC, 19 points vs. UMES.
ROOKIE
TROY JACKSON, 6-2, Fr., G, DELSTATE, Wilkes Barre, PA - Had back-to-back double-digit performances in 1-1 week.

INDEPENDENT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
WILLIAM GAINES, 6-0, G, Central State, Cincinnati -
Gaines scores 61 points for the Marauders in a 127-122 four overtime victory over Oakland City University. Gaines his on 18 of 39 field goals including 7 of 14 three-pointers. He added 18 of 20 free throws. Gaines had 16 points at the half, 25 in the second half and 20 in the overtimes to break the CSU record of 54 points held by Mel Crafter.
TONY CORNETT, 6-5, Jr., F, West Virginia State, Columbus, OH - Led No. 10-ranked Yellow Jackets to 3-0 week by notching 19.7 ppg., and 10.7 rebounds per game. He had 26 points and nine rebounds in win over No. 9 Mount Olive and 23 points and 11 boards vs. Bluefield State. Also averaged 4.3 assists in the three wins.

SIAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK BRIAN HARPER, PAINE - Led Paine's sweep of the Atlanta SIAC schools tallying a game-high 26 points, including 3 of 6 3-pointers, as Paine knocked off Morehouse in Atlanta 80-76 and also led Paine with 14 points in win over Clark Atlanta. Harper is averaging 18.0 points per game.

SWAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
CHRIS ALEXANDER, 6-1, Jr., G, Southern, Lawton, OK - Scored a team-high 21 points as the Jaguars knocked off Jackson State 80-65. Alexander, who leads the Jags in scoring at 15.5 ppg., also led Southern with 23 points in Saturday's win over Grambling State. He has led SU in scoring in 13 of 14 games.

WOMEN

CIAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
CASSIE KING, 6-0, Jr., F, NCCU, Wendell, NC - Made 10 of 11 shots and was 10 of 13 at FT line in getting a game-high 30 points in win over FSU. King also had 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
COACH
TARA OWENS, ECSU - Lady Vikings posted a 2-0 record this week with wins over Clafline and WSSU.

MEAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
BRITTANY JAMES, 5-7, Sr., G, Howard, Compton, CA - Averaged 18.5 points and 5.5 rebounds as Howard went 2-0. She had a season-high 25 points on 7 of 16 shooting and had 7 rebounds vs. SC State, her high for the season.
ROOKIE
TIFFANY REID, 5-9, Fr., G, UMES, Philadelphia - Posted her first double-double with 14 points and 11 rebouns in her first state, a 15-point win over NCA&T. Also had 12 points, 6 rebounds vs. Hampton.

INDEPENDENT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
LASHA ANDERSON, W. VA. State - Had 19 points in win over WVU Tech.

SIAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
NATASHA GRAY, Benedict - Tallied a game-high 29 points and had 10 rebounds as the Lady Tigers knocked off Clark Atlanta. Also had 18 points and 7 rebounds in a win over LeMoyne-Owen.
KISHA LUCETTE, Paine - Had 16 points and 6 boards in a win over Clark Atlanta and 17 points and 9 rebounds in a win over Miles.

SWAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
ROLANDA MONROE, G, Southern -
Had team-high 15 points as Lady Jags got by Jackson State. Also threw in team-high 21 points in wn over Grambling. She made 10 of 15 free throws vs. GSU.
