MEN

CIAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
DARIUS HARGROVE, 6-4, Sr., G, VUU, Warfield, VA - Averaged 18.6 ppg., 5 rpg., and 3 steals to earn MVP honors in three games at Southern California Hoops Classic. Scored a game-high 31 points in 60-44 finals win over Bowie State.
ROOKIE
CHARLES FUTRELL, 6-6, Fr., F, NCCU, Fayetteville, NC - Scored 19 pts. and had ten rebounds in loss to Columbus State.
COACH
DAVE ROBBINS, VIRGINIA UNION - Div. II No. 1 ranked Panthers won three games at LA Hoops Classic to improve to 7-1.

MEAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
SAM BARBER, 6-6, jr., F, B-CC, Palm Beach, FL - Had team-high 17 points in win over South Florida, his former school. Also had nine rebounds. Scored team-high 17 points in loss to Georgia Tech.
ROOKIE
TYWAIN McKEE, 6-2, So., G, Coppin St., Philadelphia - Averaged 18.5 ppg., 5.5 rpg, 4.5 apg., in losses to Michigan and Michigan State. Led Eagles in scoring both games, getting 20, 5 rebounds and 4 assists vs. UM and 17 pts., 6 rebounds and 5 assists vs. MSU.

SWAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
TREY JOHNSON, 6-5, Jr., G, Jackson State - Scored a career-high 38 points to propel the Tigers past defending SWAC champ Alabama A&M Monday in the first conference game for both schools. Johnson shot 9 of 16 from the field, canned 3 three-pointers and hit 17 of 18 free throws en route to his total. Johnson also had a team-high 19 points in a loss to Nicholls State.

INDEPENDENT PLAYER OF THE WEEK
WAYNE ARNOLD, 6-4, Sr., G, Tennessee State, Lilburn, GA - Had a team-high 19 points including four three-pointers as the Blue Tigers downed Morehead State 76-49 Monday. He had 11 in a loss to Middle Tennessee.

WOMEN

CIAA PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
LISA RICHARDSON, 5-11, Sr., F, NCCU, Baltimore - Had 16 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists in 63-57 win over Mount Olive.
ROOKIE
BRITTANY PARKER, 5-11, Fr., G/F, ST. Aug's, Waterbury, CT - Scored 15 points, had 6 assists and 5 rebounds as Lady Falcons improved to 9-0 with win over St. Paul's.
COACH
ANTONIO DAVIS, ST. AUGUSTINE'S - Lady Falcons are 24th-ranked nationally in Div. II with 9-0 record.

MEAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
Q'VAUNDA CURRY, 5-6, So., G, FAMU, Quincy, FL - Posted a total of 25 points in two wins last week. She had 15 in a win over Mercer and 10 and 8 rebounds in win over Savannnah State.
ROOKIE
DEIDRA JONES, 5-10, Fr., F, FAMU, Powder Springs, GA - Posted 12 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds vs. Mercher and 16 points, 6 rebounds in OT win over Savannah State.

SWAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PORTIA WILSON, MVSU - Had a team-high 25 points in close 69-60 loss to East Carolina. Came back to lead the Lady Devilettes to their first SWAC win over UAPB tallying 16 points, grabbing 7 rebounds and handing out six assists.

INDEPENDENT PLAYER OF THE WEEK
HEATHER PEER, G, W. VA. State - Had ten assists in win over Converse.
