NFL EUROPE WRAP-UP: Three former Hampton University football players were among six black college players in NFL Europe's World Bowl XIII won by the Amsterdam Admirals, 27-21 over the Berlin Thunder. Former Pirate QB Ataveus Cash, now competing for a job as an NFL wide receiver, was the lone Hampton player for the champion Admirals. Cash was allocated to NFL Europe by the New York Giants. Joining Cash on the Admirals were former Morgan State safety Sam Massey and former Alabama State defensive end Earl Cochran. In the game, Cash returned two punts for one yard, Massey had two tackles while Cochran had one tackle and assisted on a sack. Defensive end Isaac Hilton and linebacker Jamal Brooks are the former Pirates playing for Berlin. Former Morris Brown defensive back James Thorton also plays for the Thunder. The players are some of the 18 former black college players that competed in the six-team NFL developmental league (See STAT CORNER, below) and will be looking to make 2005 NFL rosters.
