Final BCSP Men's Top 10

1. VIRGINIA UNION (30-4) - Talented, well-balanced and well-coached Panther squad stands atop the final ranking after winning CIAA and South Atlantic Region tournament titles en route to capturing 2005 NCAA Div. II national championship, their third national title (1980, '92) under coach Dave Robbins.

2. DELAWARE STATE (19-14) - MEAC regular season and tournament champion earns runner-up spot after gamely battling ACC champ Duke to 57-46 decision in first round of Div. I NCAA Tournament.

3. BOWIE STATE (26-5) - CIAA E. Div. champ lost to Va. Union in S. Atlantic Region final after defeating the Panthers twice in the regular season.

4. ALABAMA A&M (18-14) - SWAC regular season and tournament champion fell to Oakland in opening round of NCAA Div. I Tournament.

5. HAMPTON (17-13) - MEAC regular season and tournament runners-up to DelState.

6. WINSTON-SALEM STATE (22-8) - CIAA W. Div. champs got regular season wins over Bowie State and Virginia Union but were knocked out in CIAA Tourney semis and S. Atlantic Region quarters.

7. S.C. STATE (19-12) - Bulldogs had terrific start but injuries slowed their finish. Lost in MEAC semis.

8. ALABAMA STATE (15-15) - FInished in second place tie in regular season and lost to Alabama A&M in SWAC Tournament title game.

9. COPPIN STATE (14-15) - Eagles made their usual run but fall short in MEAC semis.

10. TENNESSEE STATE (14-17) - Cy Alexanders' troops finished tied for fifth in OVC but had a convincing win over SWAC champ Alabama A&M.
