What's Going On In and Around Black College Sports
CIAA ANNIVERSARY TEAM: The 2005 CIAA Basketball Tournament in Raleigh, N.C., will be the 60th
Anniversary of the marquee black college event and
the Ford Motor Company has joined with the conference to
celebrate the landmark event. Ten players and three coaches are to be
selected from a list of the greatest players and coaches in CIAA
history as members of "Ford's CIAA Tournament 60th
Anniversary Team" and will be honored at the Tournament, to be held this
year from Feb. 28 to March 5. The team will be selected by
voting from four groups, whose votes will each make up
one-quarter of the selection process. CIAA Presidents,
Athletic Directors and Coaches constitute one group, with Hall
of Fame members, media and fan votes from the
official CIAA2005.com web site make up the remainder of
the selectees. Write-in votes are also accepted. Below is the
