FINAL BCSP MEN'S TOP TEN1. FLORIDA A&M (15-17) - Mike Gillespie's troops emerged from crowded MEAC field to take tournament title. Played tough against top-seed Kentucky in NCAA Tournament after winning play-in game. Despite losing record, playing best at end of the season gives the Rattlers the top spot. 2. ALABAMA STATE (16-15) - Finished behind MVSU in SWAC regular season but knocked off Alabama A&M for tourney title. Bombed by Duke in NCAA Tourney. 3. MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE (22-7) - Won SWAC regular season title by five games but upset in first round of SWAC Tourney by Alcorn State. 4. COPPIN STATE (18-14) - Tied for first in regular season but bowed to Florida A&M in MEAC Tournament finals. 5. SOUTH CAROLINA STATE (18-11) - MEAC Tourney's top seed fell victim to FAMU's run through the tournament in semifinals. 6. VIRGINIA UNION (25-5) - Finished behind Bowie State in regular season but won CIAA tourney before losing heartbreaker in opening round of the NCAA D-2 Tourney. 7. BOWIE STATE (23-6) - Injuires may have spoiled chance for Bulldogs run to second straight Div. II Elite Eight. Fell in quarters of CIAA Tourney, semis of South Atlantic Regional. 8. CHEYNEY(23-8) - Won PSAC East, lost in tournament semifinals but reached Div. II East Regional semis before losing to top seed (Pfeiffer). 9. WEST VIRGINIA STATE(25-6) - Dogged by WVIAC nemesis Alderson-Broadhurs, losing to A-BC in conference tourney finals and East Region semifinals. 10. BENEDICT (19-9) - Third-seeded Tigers knocked off Morehouse for SIAC tournament title. Fell in first round of NCAA South Regional. (TIE) MOREHOUSE (24-7) - SIAC regular season champ fell to Benedict in tourney finals. Fell in first round of South Regional.
