DARIUS HARGROVE, So., F, VUU, Warfield, VA - Averaged 23.6 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3 assists in wins over Shaw, UDC and NCCU. Got 31 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals vs. NCCU.
ROOKIE
TERRY SUMTER, Fr., F, SAC, Baltimore, MD - Averaged 13 points and 3.3 rebonds as Falcons went 2-1 on the week. Had 21 points on 8-for-8 shooting, and 7 rebounds vs. LC.

STEVE JOYNER, JCSU - Got his 300th career win in victory over Shaw this week.

THOMAS "Tee" TroTTER, Sr., G, UMES, Las Cruces, NM - Third straight POW award after games of 34, 16 and 21 points in 2-1 week.
ROOKIE
KELVIN GREEN, Fr., F, CSC, Philadelphia, PA -
Came off bench to lead Eagles to 2-0 week. Scored 21 points in win over DSU and added 17 points, seven rebounds and three assists in win over Howard.

PLAYER
ATTARIUS NORWOOD, Sr., F, MVSU, Crystal Springs, MS - In two wins, averaged 23.5 ppg., 6.0 rpg., 2.0 blocks and 1.5 apg. Scored a season-high 31 points in win over Southern.

INDEPENDENT PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
PLAYER
MIKE TAYLOR, Sr., G, WVSC, Detroit, MI - Tallied 53 points and had nine rebounds in two wins as Yellow Jackets hang on to first place in WVIAC. Taylor is second in scoring in the WVIAC averaging 24.7 ppg.
NEWCOMER
BRUCE PRICE, Fr., G, Tenn. St., Minneapolis, MN - Price averaged 19 points as TSU posted a 2-1 record. In a narrow loss at EKU, the freshman guard canned 4-of-8 three-point attempts and finished with 25 points. He followed that with 14 and 18 points in wins over EIU and SE Missouri. For the week, Price shot 53.3 percent from long-range (8-of-15) and 72.4 percent at the foul line (21-of-29) while also clearing 11 rebounds and dishing out 11 assists.

ROOKIE
DEANNA PRICE, Fr., G, ECSU, Washington, DC - Price posted a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds and dished out six assists in win over NCCU.

JACQUES CURTIS, Shaw - Clinched second consecutive E. Div. title.

LEISEL HARRY, Sr., C, CSC, Pt. Fortin, Trinidad - Averaged 28.5 ppg., and 15.5 rpg., shot 56.4% and had 11th and 12th double-doubles. Had career-high 26 points in win over DSU and bettered that with 31 points (17 boards) in loss to Howard.

- Three-peats as ROW averaging 15.5 ppg., 7.5 rpg., 2.5 apg., and 2.5 spg. Had 19 vs. FAMU, 12 pts., 7 reb., vs. B-CC.

CRYSTAL KITT, Jr., C, Alabama St., Mobile, AL - Posted double-doubles in two wins. She averaged 26.5 ppg., 16.0 rpg., 3.0 blocks, 1.5 spg., and 1.5 apg., while hitting 62% of her shots (21 of 34). She scored her 1,000th career point in a win over Savannah State.
