ALL-SIAC GRID STARS: The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced its 2003 All-Conference football team selected by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.

SIAC Champion Albany State led the way with nine players on the first team while Fort Valley State notched the second most first team participants with five. FVSU running back Derrick Wimbush, who led the SIAC rushing for 1,348 yards and 14 TDs, garnered offensive player of the year honors. Albany State took home a pair of crowns with defensive lineman Walter Curry's SIAC Defensive Player of the Year trophy and head coach Mike White's Coach of the Year nod. Curry's 16 sacks were second best in the nation. He also recorded 72 tackles, with a national best 35 for 168 yards in losses. Fourth-year coach White took Albany State to their first SIAC title since 1997 and the school's first ever Pioneer Bowl berth.
