STEVE McNAIR, 6-2, 235, QB, Tennessee (9th year, ALCORN STATE) - Completed 9 of 11 passes for 95 yards and two TDs to Frank Wycheck before injuring his calf in win over Atlanta.

DEFENSE 
BRENT ALEXANDER, 5-11, 200, FS, Pittsburgh (10th year, TENNESSEE STATE) - Four tackles and one assist, an end zone interception and a fumble recovery in win over Cleveland.

  • MICHAEL STRAHAN, 6-5, 275, DE, New York Giants (11th year, TEXAS SOUTHERN) - Four tackles, one of them a sack, in loss to Tampa Bay. Strahan is tied for third in the NFL with 11 sacks.

  • SHANNON SHARPE, 6-2, 228, TE, Denver (13th year, SAVANNAH STATE) - Three receptions for 50 yards in loss to Chicago.
  • JERRY RICE, 6-2, 200, WR, Oakland (19th year, MISS. VALLEY STATE) - Two receptions for 51 yards, including a 47-yarder for a TD that was the 1,500th reception of his brilliant career, in a loss to Kansas City. The TD was his NFL record 193rd.
  • JIMMY SMITH, 6-1, 213, WR, Jacksonville (13th year, JACKSON STATE) - Six receptions for 63 yards in loss to NY Jets.
