OFFENSE 
STEVE McNAIR, 6-2, 235, QB, Tennessee (9th year, ALCORN STATE) - Continued his fine play completing 21 of 27 passes for 187 yards and one touchdown in 6-1 Titans' win over Jacksonville. He also threw one interception. McNair maintains highest QB rating in NFL.

DEFENSE 
FRANK WALKER, 5-10, 193, DB, New York Giants (1st year, TUSKEGEE) - The rookie from Tuskegee had three tackles and an interception, the first of the season of Minnesota QB Daunte Culpepper, as the Giants knocked off the previously unbeaten Vikings, 29-17. Walker returned the interception 18 yards to the Vikings' 17 leading to Ike Hilliard's second TD pass reception that put the game out of reach.

  • MICHAEL STRAHAN, 6-5, 275, DE, New York Giants (11th year, TEXAS SOUTHERN) - Had five tackles, one assist, including two sacks as Giants knocked Minnesota fromthe unbeaten ranks, 29-17.
  • NICHOLAS HARPER, 5-10, 182, DB, Indianapolis (3rd year, FORT VALLEY STATE) - Led the Colts with nine tackles, and added three assists, in win over Houston.
  • EARL HOLMES, LB, Detroit (8th year, FLORIDA A&M) - Six tackles and two assists in loss to Chicago.
  • CHARTRIC DARBY, 6-0, 270, DT, Tampa Bay (3rd year, S. C. STATE) - One tackle, a sack, in shutout of Dallas.
  • AENEAS WILLIAMS, 5-11, 200, FS, St. Louis (13th year, SOUTHERN) - One tackle and an interception in win over Pittsburgh.
  • BRENT ALEXANDER, 5-11, 200, FS, Pittsburgh (10th year, TENNESSEE STATE) - Led Steelers with seven tackles, one assist, in loss to St. Louis.
  • Greg Wesley, 6-2, 206, SS, Kansas City Chiefs (4th year, ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF) - Had six tackles and one assist in win over Buffalo

  • JIMMY SMITH, 6-1, 213, WR, Jacksonville (13th year, JACKSON STATE) - Three receptions for 60 yards including a 49-yard scoring reception from Bryan Leftwich in loss to Tennessee.
  • SCOTTY ANDERSON, 6-2, 191, WR, Detroit (3rd year, GRAMBLING STATE) - Four receptions for a team-high 39 yards in loss to Chicago.
  • SHANNON SHARPE, 6-2, 228, TE, Denver (14th year, SAVANNAH STATE) - Two receptions for 15 yards in loss to Baltimore.
