OFFENSE
STEVE McNAIR, 6-2, 235, QB, Tennessee (9th year, ALCORN STATE) - Continued his fine play completing 12 of 22 passes for 190 yards including a 22-yard scoring strike to Drew Bennett and carried the ball two times for 30 yards indluding a seven-yard TD run that opened the scoring in knocking Carolina from the undefeated ranks. McNair also caught a pass for four yards. The former Alcorn State QB leads the league in passing yards (1,601), is second among starting QBs with a passer rating of 107.8, is tied for third with 11 TD passes and has thrown just two interceptions. The Titans are 5-1.

DEFENSE
MICHAEL STRAHAN, 6-5, 275, DE, New York Giants (11th year, TEXAS SOUTHERN) - Had five tackles, including two sacks and a fumble recovery in loss to Philadelphia. The sacks give him 101.5 in his career. He is the 21st player to reach that milestone since the league started keeping sacks as a statistic in 1982.

  • GRADY JACKSON, 6-2, 330, DT, New Orleans (7th year, KNOXVILLE) - Had two tackles including one sack in win over Atlanta.
  • CLETIDUS HUNT, 6-4, 305, Green Bay (5th year, FORT VALLEY STATE) - Four tackles, one assist and a sack in loss to St. Louis.
  • AENEAS WILLIAMS, 5-11, 200 fS, St. Louis (13th year, SOUTHERN) - Three tackles in win over Green Bay.
  • TYRONE POOLE, 5-8, 188, DB, New England (8th year, FORT VALLEY STATE)- Two tackles, one assist and an interception in win overtime victory vs. Miami.
  • EARL HOLMES, LB, Detroit (8th year, FLORIDA A&M) - Led Lions with six tackles and four assists in loss to Dallas.
  • DRAYTON FLORENCE, 6-0, 195, DB, San Diego (1st year, TUSKEGEE) - Three tackles in Chargers' first win over Cleveland.
  • GREG WESLEY, 6-2, 206, SS, Kansas City Chiefs (4th year, ARKANSAS-PINE BLUFF) - Had six tackles and one assist in win over Oakland.

  • DONALD DRIVER, 6-0, 188, Green Bay (5th year, ALCORN STATE) - Four receptions for 53 yards in loss to St. Louis. Also had one run for seven yards.
  • SHANNON SHARPE, 6-2, 228, TE, Denver (14th year, SAVANNAH STATE) - Seven receptions for 79 yards in loss to Minnesota.
  • TROY HAMBRICK, 6-1, 233, RB, Dallas (4th year, SAVANNAH STATE) - Rushed 24 times for 74 yards including a three-yard TD run in win over Detroit. Hambrick also had two receptions for 15 yards.
  • SCOTTY ANDERSON, 6-1, 185, WR, Detroit (4th year, GRAMBLING STATE) - Led Lions with three receptions for 25 yards in loss to Dallas.
  • JERRY RICE, Oakland (17th year, MISSISSIPPI VALLEY STATE) - Five receptions for 71 yards in loss to Kansas City.
