BCSP NFL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
for games of 9/21-22

OFFENSE
STEVE McNAIR, 6-2, 235, QB, Tennessee (9th year, ALCORN STATE) - Completed 22 of 33 passes for 252 yards and TD passes of 2 and five yards in win over New Orleans. With his effor, McNair became the fifth quarterback in NFL history to notch 20,000 yards passing and 3,000 yards rushing. McNair needed only 171 yards passing to join Fran Tarkenton, John Elway, Randall Cunningham and Steve Young as the only quarterbacks with such numbers. But he came into the game questionable after dislocating his right ring finger last week. "He hasn't gotten a lot of credit over the years," head coach Jeff Fisher said of his quarterback. "He's made plays and won a lot of games. That shows you what kind of passer he is."

DEFENSE
NICHOLAS HARPER, 5-10, 182, DB, Indianapolis (3rd year, FORT VALLEY STATE) - Had six tackles and one assist in Colts third straight win. Harper continues to share the NFL in interceptions with three. Seven other players have three interceptions.
