UMES Officially Introduces Vivian Fuller at Athletics Director

Princess Anne, MD - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore officially introduced Dr. Vivian L. Fuller as Director of Athletics at a press conference on Thursday.

Fuller comes to UMES after serving as Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Tennessee State University (TSU) from 1997-99. Before taking the position at TSU, she was Director of Intercollegiate Athletics at Northeatern Illinois University for five years.

"This gives me the opportunity to continue to enhance and build on a Division I Program," said Fuller. "There are outstanding facilities and the institution has a strong sports history. It gives me a chance to build on the tradition of UMES Athletics."

Fuller is familiar with the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, having served as a professor and assistant AD at North Carolina A&T State University from 1984-87.

In addition to her work at TSU, NIU and A&T, the Fayetteville State University graduate has been involved intercollegiate athletics at Iowa State University, the University of Idaho and Bennett College. She has been involved in many NCAA Committees including the Management Council, Peer Review Committee, Initial Eligibility Standards Committee, Gender Equity Rask Force and National Youth Sports Program.

Fuller replaces Dr. Hallie Gregory, who left to become athletics director at Delaware State.
