Tennessee State to introduce James Reese as Head Football Coach

Tennessee State University has announced that James Reese willbe introduced as the new football coach. A pressconference will be held at the University's main campus on January 20, at 12Noon (CST) in the Forum (Rm 210) of the Floyd-Payne Campus Center.

Reese will replace L.C. Cole who recently left the university to take thehead coaching job at Alabama State University. Reese, a native of Nashville,Tennessee where he played at Whites Creek High School, played fullback at TSUfrom 1988-90 under William Thomas  and then  Joe Gilliam, Sr. He hasserved as an assistant coach on the TSU staff for eight years. He served as agraduate assistant and assistant coach for running backs under Gilliam from1991-92 and Bill Davis from 1993-95. Under the (L.C.) Cole regime, Reese coachthe running backs  from 1996-98 and was the offensive coordinator andquarterbacks coach in the 1999 season when the Tigers went 11-1 and undefeated(11-0) in the regular season. He has also been serving as the recruitingcoordinator for the Tigers this past year.

James Reese  received his bachelor's degree in business administrationfrom Tennessee State and a master's degree in educational supervision from TSUas well.
