  • Sheals Resigns as Men's Basketball Coach at Delaware State
  • The Savannah State University Tiger Baseball Team has broken the single season Division II consecutive win record with 31 victories. The record came in a double-header win over Tuskegee University. The previous record was 30 wins in 1998 by Kennesaw State University.
    The Tigers could break the 23 year old Division I consecutive win record of 34 set by the University of Texas in 1977 on Sunday 3-19-00 when they host the University of Maryland at Eastern Shore in Savannah, Georgia.

  • Lincoln (PA) University captured its thirdstraight men's Division III indoor track and field title on Saturday whileits women's team finished second overall in the national championshipsheld in Bloomington, Indiana.
  • St. Augustine's College finished secondin both the men's and women's Division II indoor track and field competitionin Boston, Saturday. The Falcons and Lady Falcons lost to long-time rivalAbilene Christian. Athletes from N.C. Central, Morehouse, Kentucky Stateand Morehouse earned all-american honors at the national championships.
  • Although times have not been finalized.The four Black College Division I basketball teams each received a #16seed and will meet the top seeded team in their respective regions on March16 or 17.

  • SWAC men's champion Jackson State will face Arizona in the West region in Salt Lake City while women's champ AlcornState will meet Louisiana Tech.
    MEAC men's champ South Carolina Statewill face Stanford in Birmingham while the Hampton Lady Pirates will meetConnecticut in the first round of the Division I playoffs.
