Black Entertainment Television will cablecast five black college football games this fall. Two of the games will be presented live while the other three will be shown same-day tape-delay.
The games will be produced by Simmons Communications, a Washington, DC based production company. BET has significantly reduced its in-house sports production staff and now looks to companies like Simmons to handle most sports and some entertainment production coordination responsibilities.
All games will be presented from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
This season's schedule will open on September 11 with a live cablecast of the Southern Heritage Classic game in Memphis between Jackson State and Tennessee State and conclude with the SWAC Championship Game, December 11, in Birmingham.
